Handheld, household flashlights

Anyone have rechargeable flashlights?
Looking for some new flashlights around the house, especially before hurricane season. Thinking about going the rechargeable route, but looking for feedback since I’ve only ever owned battery operated flashlights.

Not trying to be facetious but if the electricity is out after a storm how are you going to charge it,
I have battery powered ones.

I have a little Fenix pocket sized LED, that runs on a rechargeable battery, but can also be used with AA batteries. I remember something about the brightness is less running on the AA, but for something around the house when the power it out, it would be plenty bright. The rechargeable battery has a little Micro-USB charge port on it, and is supposed to give you several hours of use on the low brightness setting on the light. Look for something like that, with variable brightness settings on the light itself. I've bought a few from battery junction over the years.

FENIX E28R is my go to. They provide them at work so I have a bunch. Rechargeable batteries are a little pricey.

Ditto on Fenix. Great lights all around other than the price.

I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze with rechargeable emergency lights. Inherently more expensive. More maintenance (i.e. you have to make sure they're charged before you need them).
Assuming you have enough things that use AA and AAA batteries and you always keep a dozen or so batteries in stock, you can sprinkle the house with decent $5 and $10 lights or even $1 cheapies. If you click on one and the battery is dead, grab another and head to the battery stash.

I have a couple of Sofirn lights that I love. The BLF LT1 lantern is pretty awesome. They charge with a USB-C cable.
The SP36 will make your yard look like daylight. I use it for blood trailing and keep it handy for power outages.

A hand crank flashlight + radio saved my butt during Ida. There was more than one occasion I needed light, and either had to wait for a dinky USB charge, or hand crank for a few seconds.
I plan on adding a few more. They make solar + hand crank + battery flashlight, lantern and radio combo.

I have rechargeables, but I would never have only rechargeables. For a power outage get something that runs on CR123As or AAs.

Lowes sells a led Riobi for around $35. Lithium + 18 volt. All you will need.

I’ve got a bunch of small Coast brand single AA flashlights. 450 lumens I think. They seem tough and put out great light in a small package. Home Depo carries them.

Man I love those Bell and Howell tac-lights. Not expensive and the batteries last a long time. Takes triple A’s, which you could buy some quality rechargeable ones and rotate them. They are also very rugged flashlights.

The Ryobi LED lantern that uses their 18v rechargeable batteries. Lasts forever on a charge. If you have spare batteries for your drill, weed eater, etc, you have enough light for a week or more.

I have a mix of rechargeable and disposable battery lights. My EDC Streamlight Wedge is always at hand and is a great all purpose light. I have two 3-D cell Maglites and a pair of rechargeable lanterns as well as several Milwaukee and Dewalt rechargeable work lights. For output and durability it's hard to beat a work light coupled with a bigger battery.
