College Grads Are Socially Illiterate

According to WSJ, college grads have to receive corporate training on saying their name to people. Natural next-step in devolution after pronouns, I guess.

It's pretty bad. We had to start sending out reminders monthly to NOT USE text abbreviations and emojis in professional medical emails.

I had similar training at my first job out of college in the 1980's.

The Fortune 50 employer flew us to headquarters and taught us to wear high-rise socks so that nobody could see ugly ankle hair.

Couldn't this be said about any recent college graduate in any generation?

Back in the 1880's when I was a young whippersnapper we had a no exposed ankles or wrist policy for wives that showed up at work with a sammich for their their actual husband.

Times change I guess.

nope, because they actually used to have to learn things that couldn't be googled, had to learn to write, to do math, speak properly, etc.

I work with college graduates who can’t write a complete sentence. Some of them can’t even come close.

You'd think so, but in Idiocracy they put the smartest man in charge. Not the case lately.

They really want to call others illiterate? They can't even write shite that's even 10% factual/accurate most of the time.

A majority of the time, anything I read that's been written by the MSM...I immediately know to believe the exact opposite.

Talk to any college professor and they will tell you that students are terrible writers coming out of high school now.

To be fair, most places I’ve worked (large banks) have been full of people who can’t write complete sentences. I had one VP (Gen X) tell me that writing in complete sentences is painful to him

A few days ago, my wife [no pic] bought a small pizza that cost a little over $10. She paid with a $20 dollar bill. The High School age girl gave her about $.50 change.

My wife had to show her that the printed ticket showed that the change was $9.14.
