Everytime you do anything besides copy/paste something from Reddit you show everyone how truly stupid you are.

We discussed this book on here years ago. It's a great book and spells it all out. I've talked to one of the authors and he had it figured out.

The center would move to the Right because they're sick of the Left's insanity if only the Right was less crazy - are you suggesting there are more whackjobs on the Right than Left?

No not more. But they both do absolutely have their wackjobs. The left I won't even go into because progressives have turned them batsh!t insane, but if you're on the center and what you see coming from the right is constant conspiracy theories, denial of things such as climate change because heck they know better than those corrupt scientists, and just an unhealthy worship of a politician (Trump) beyond what we saw even with Obama it doesn't leave much for them to gravitate too

How so? If they legalized weed tomorrow in Arkansas it wouldn't even start to turn blue.

I mean the only place remotely liberal in CO is Denver. I never go there and nobody else in the state does either unless they gotta fly out. The state can appear bat shite crazy, but if things got weird there isn't another conservative stronghold state I'd rather live in. The idiots in Denver do not speak for anyone else in the state. They can make gun laws and all kinda other laws, but nobody I know pays attention to all that nonsense. When the shite goes down, the commies running Denver will not be in a good place. Ignore the lunacy and live a good life.

Yep. My cousin went to school in Boulder beginning in 1991 and she remarked about how many California's were at both Colorado and at State in Ft Collins. They were everywhere....and they stayed. Also add in all of the tech companies that popped up as well as large divisions of companies like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman attracting Californians from the Bay Area.

This all started in the late 80's but Colorado was reliably Republican until about 2006. But the place was ripe for a switch with all the newcomers coming in.....Denver had a pretty stout growth rate in the 90's

But, what the Democrats did in Colorado is the EXACT same thing that they are doing in Arizona and to a lesser extent Georgia.....and they are trying in Texas. The local level is where they concentrated. School Boards, County Commissions...State Houses...and sherriffs as well as judges. They play the long game and the party bosses are incredibly disciplined and professional in execution of their strategy.

The Republicans just are not serious on that level....MTG's and Lauren Boebert types are generally first vetted by the party on the lower levels to see if they are going to be good soldiers and controllable. Where have the Republicans done the grass roots stuff?

Honestly I'd say it's less the policies and more the general behavior. The loudest people generally seem to be the most insane / militant and that goes for both sides. There's plenty of normal people on the left as well, but generally we think about the blue haired non binary pangender people who screech to shut people up. And people look at the right and don't see all the normal families but rather conspiracy theory science denying (yes the left is guilty of this too) cultist who are obsessed with a comedian with far too large an ego.

Now CO is on track to follow OR and legalize psychedelic drugs and eventually all drugs. The recently concluded legislature passed several anti-gun measures and the governor has stated in the next legislative session his intent to pass legislation requiring a "permit to purchase" for firearms,

It’s already too late. According to the ATF, you cannot possess a firearm if you have a medical marijuana card. So states “legalizing” these drugs is 100% a step toward gun grabs.

quote:

“[A]ny person who uses or is addicted to marijuana, regardless of whether his or her State has passed legislation authorizing marijuana use for medicinal purposes, is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance, and is prohibited by Federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition. Such persons should answer “yes” to question 11.e. on ATF Form 4473 (August 2008), Firearms Transaction Record, and you may not transfer firearms or ammunition to them. Further, if you are aware that the potential transferee is in possession of a card authorizing the possession and use of marijuana under State law, then you have “reasonable cause to believe” that the person is an unlawful user of a controlled substance. As such, you may not transfer firearms or ammunition to the person, even if the person answered “no” to question 11.e. on ATF Form 4473.”1

I know a few upper-income white hyper liberal couples who live there now and love it.

Their kids go to public schools that are 90% white.

I mean, their Denver suburb has a great "quality of life" and "good schools".

Don't forget the once reddest of red states, Arizona. The state that gave us Barry Goldwater. Same thing is happening to Arizona that happened in Colorado, except the only difference is demographics where Arizona is one of the border states currently absorbing half the population of central and south America. Arizona just elected a total airhead as governor and helped elect another airhead, Biden, as president. If you thought the printers failing in Arizona in the 2022 election was bad, just wait until 2024.
