Yearly Omaha Question - Re seeding

What’s so hard about re-seeding the brackets after the Supers?
BTW, Wake Forest is getting screwed because LSU and Florida should be in the same bracket with a re-seed.

They don’t re seed March Madness.

Before the super regional were set up in 1999, they used to seed the field once the CWS was set. Half the time the seedings never made sense.

Re seeding is lame. I like being able to look ahead at potential matchups

Re-seeding is stupid.
Its the CWS. Any team holding back in Game 1 looking forward to Game 2 is fricking retarded and deserves to lose.

Re-seeding would allow teams to strategize their pitching starters just like they do in the Regionals. It’s really not that hard to do.

LSU literally found out it was Tennessee and Stanford in their bracket last night.
WF is #1, yet Florida has 2 of the 3 unseeded teams on their side of the bracket.

We started Paul Skenes against Tulane. We're going to start Paul Skenes on Saturday against Tennessee, and we would start Paul Skenes even if Oral Roberts was the opponent.
Its playoff time. You play to win the next game. That means putting your best available lineup on the field. Period.
The opponent really doesn't matter at this stage.

So wrong I don't know where to begin

So you think they went over scouting reports for USM and Texas yesterday before they played? The guy said he liked to know potential matchups.

My mistake I misread it. But we knew since regionals that if we made Omaha our first opponent only had 8 possibilities.
I doubt Jay himself has been scouting but I wouldn't doubt he has others taking notes for all possibilities and yes that includes USM and Texas

So what’s your point? They don’t reseed

There is no point. It’s a discussion on a website that features discussions. I think everyone is confusing my post with LSU’s interest and Skenes. It really screws Wake Forest. I’m sure if LSU was the top seed, this thread would be a little different.
I’ll drop it, but it is talked about, and I’m sure they will do it one day as more stars stay in college. It would help potential tv ratings for Semis and Finals.
March Madness does not do it, but they have started seeding based on injuries at the end of the year, which is basically an admission that they think a team is weaker than their regular season accomplishment.

This is something that has been discussed for years. I do think that if you are going to seed teams nationally and not regionally like Basketball you should reseed. I don't think you need to do it for Omaha however. The Supers play Fri-Sun and Sat-Mon. Those teams should stay on schedule to make sure they have full rest going into the CWS for optimal performance. I do think you should should reseed the supers because hosting is a privilege for the schools. It has never made any sense to me to have national seeds who won a regional be on the road while unseeded teams get the competitive and financial benefit of hosting.

Here is the flaw. TCU and ORU are the 2 lowest ranked teams remaining. They play each other first. That means one of them is GUARANTEED to not use Johnny Wholestaff in Game 2. Meanwhile Florida and Virginia play, and one of them will GUARANTEED have to use Johnny Wholestaff in Game 2.
Imagine if LSU and Oregon State played and then Sam Houston and Tulane played after.

If you just reseed in-between the regionals and supers that would eliminate the issue. I doubt Oral Roberts get out of Winston Salem. Reseeding the supers would have looked like this.
Wake vs ORU
Florida v USM
LSU v Oregon
Virginia vs Texas
Stanford vs Duke
Kentucky vs TCU
Indian St vs Tennessee
South Carolina vs Bama
This really assures either you earned the way into Omaha and no team will need to be reseeded. ORU benefited from a weak regional and super. Had they went to Wake and won, we would look at them differently.

Much like the Heisman Award Ceremony, just have an ESPN Special the day after Supers end. The numbers are drawn from the baseball cap of the reigning National Champion.
The number you draw is your team's seed.
The drawing order will be determined by gurus that specialize in determining drawing orders.

I do like the BBA proposal of 3-game series quarterfinal semi final and championship
Omaha is such a crapshoot as is. It makes it fun, but it also doesn’t always produce the “best” team at the end IMO
