Yep. Likely Wake, Texas/Stanford, Tennessee, and LSU.

LSU would open with Tennessee.

If we opened on Friday, we could maybe bring him back on short rest the next Thursday in a potential elimination game.

People throw on short rest in the World Series all the time. And in the bigs starters NORMALLY throw on 5 days rest (see Gerrit Cole). I bet he’ll be available on 4 days rest if indicated.

And we would be on the same side as Wake Forest?

if getting Skenes a non-weather interrupted start is #1 on Jay's list of priorities then he can weather-watch, prepare both Floyd and Skenes for Saturday and make a game day decision between the two if thunderstorms threaten to point where a stop-start-game is possible. Not sure that Jay could do such a thing to Floyd if we were F,S,S

Nah, if he thinks an early weather delay is likely he can just start Cooper. Eventually weather won't be a factor, and he can bring Skenes in then. If there is no weather delay then bring in Skenes at the start of the third (or Floyd, if you'd prefer).

I am getting ahead of myself, but...assuming Wake Forest wins game one, I would consider starting Skenes in game two. If the goal is the national title, I think LSU has to start 2-0 in Omaha with the lack of pitching depth. Depending on the schedule I would at least consider it.

Against Tennessee, you probably need to throw Skenes.

Against Southern Miss, maybe the possibility of Floyd/Hurd is there.

Yes, this is what I was suggesting. Sorry for not being clear.

They won't announce the Sunday times until after Saturday's results. There could be anywhere from 4 to 8 games on Sunday.

Should I assume that we are home team on Saturday and Visitor on Sunday?

Yes and we'd be home in a potential Game 3

Don't like it. You have your Friday night starter in a routine of starting later in the day and now he will get thrown out there at 2 PM with some of the hottest weather we've seen all year.

So. Will. They.

Some of you need to drop your nuts and toughen up. Quit being afraid of everything.

Who's afraid? All I said is that I don't like it. Didn't say Skenes wouldn't compete or have a great game, it's just advantageous for a starting pitcher to stay in a routine.

He started the last two weeks in games that started in the middle of the day.
