Trump signed his check. Of course, given Trumps history of surrounding himself with failure, that should have been a sign.
But, again, you go with the best advice you think you can get and during that time of the virus there were just too many unknowns. I dont fault anyone for erring on the side of caution, nor do I fault them for being more aggressive.

quote:I dont know what was bullshite or not. One could have easily believed that a couple weeks would allow things to stabilize. And a message had to be sent. "look, we dont know what will happen for a year or more, so sit tight and dont worry about empty grocery store shelves" wasnt a message that would have settled people down.
How about "2 weeks to flatten the curve" that they all knew was bullshite.
But, I also dont believe everyone I dont agree with politically is a horrible person

quote:Those don't look like March 2020 numbers but whatever you say.
Not all of us.
Things we knew in March of 2020.
We had enough ventilators.
The hospitalization rate for cases was under 5%.
The rate of patients in ICU was under 2.5% per case.
The IFR was under 1%.
The course of the illness in average was under 20 days.
Younger people and healthy people are at significantly less risk.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. That’s what we knew in March of 2020. We had worldwide data to look at.

Did he give him a medal in January of 2021?
Yup. Strangely enough, the only people that had a problem with it at the time were us more discerning, intelligent folk that were not & did not exhibit the cult-like behavior that is so often, (and foolishly I might add), attributed to Trump supporters. The only true blind followers were/are the virtuous vaxaddicts of the Covidian Cult.
Yup, Trump gave Fauci a medal, Trump supporters gave Fauci the finger, while all of the jab junkies were lining up to give Fauci a coronation & a blowjob.

But they were. We can wish they weren’t. Or pretend they weren’t. We cannot say they weren’t known.

The Diamond Princess gave some good indications of what Covid was/what it wasn't, and I think that was quarantined early February.

There was pretty indicative data out of China by March, as well.

Link?
Who advised him to do so? What did he do after May?

Can people please stop acting like we were all psychic back in 2020? Is that too much too ask?
Posted on 6/2/23 at 4:33 pm to Vacherie Saint
As soon as we stop pretending no one knew anything.
Posted on 6/2/23 at 4:35 pm to the808bass
Sure. Too bad the people who knew were lying to world leaders.

Eh. There was plenty of stuff out there.
You could do back of napkin calculations and figure out we had way more than enough ventilators. But somehow we had to trust the NIH for that?(We didn’t)
Looking at the early numbers out of China should have guided us more than the psyop videos. But we let the videos guide us.
Looking at the vaccine trial data should have told us a lot. But no one really paid attention.
At some point, that’s a failure of leadership.

I agree. It took a tremendous amount of courage for Ron, Kemp, and Abbot to do what they did in the face of near-global consensus. Too bad it took nearly a year to do it.

Like what? And where? Those must pretty easily cited and attachable sources to have been of the immense weight and significance significance to change gears and go all in on - all against the grain. Can we see the same information that was completely available to Trump?

It’s pretty easy to “play it safe” when you’re in charge and there are so many unknowns, but just remember the initial response ended up being 100% correct.
