Taysom Hill

With the additions to the TE room, the very crowded backfield, and the fact that Tayom is more of a runner than a thrower, is he being regulated to Special Teams and a few Wildcat plays a game this year? Really not seeing a spot for him to have much success at.

It’s almost like you haven’t noticed the impact he has on the game.

It looks to me like they are adding very large offensive personnel, WR's and TE's, with blocking ability. Dennis Allen's dream is to have all of those big bodies in late in the game while Taysom pummels the opponent in the run game. I think that will be his role.

So who do you take the carries away from? I don't understand reworking Kamara contract, signing J Williams, and then drafting a RB in the 3rd when you plan on letting Taysom have 10 carries a game. That makes no sense.

No one.
Kamara suspension looms.
Wildcat would involve more than Taysom. Williams, Miller, and Alvin would be components of that pummel system
You shouldn't view it as taking carries away, The correct view is that you are running more plays via that system then you would otherwise and you need the horses to do it.
Allen loves to get conservative with a lead and this is how he views being successful with that implementation.
Any contract is re-worked due to cap manipulation.

I don't know. My recv corp would have Guys with large catch radius and guts/guys that are rabbits.

Kamara will be suspended. After him, we are slightly above average, at best. The rookie is a play for the future. Taysom will be called upon to run and pound the defenses, especially late in games.

In a division where some prognosticators have the Saints, Falcons, and Panthers finishing 9-8, Taysom Hill can get you an odd victory or two. He may be the difference in just winning the division.

Hill led the team in TDs and was 3rd on our team in yards from scrimmage
31% of our scoring production
30% of our rush yards

Taysom behind a healthy dominant Oline with big blocking TEs and WRs will be an unstoppable force.

Side note, this was one of the worst offenses in the league and the worst offenses in over 16 years for the saints.

he will most likely take over kamaras role as a pass catching RB and also has the extra wrinkle he can stop and throw it at any time.
his contract is very friendly so i think he stays here as long as DA does

He was pretty effective even when the defense knew what was coming.
Adding more offensive pieces is never a bad thing. Hill become more complimentary but he becomes more dangerous imo

Hard to argue with any of that.

We can't name all of the starting O-line units that the Saints had last year.
I think they were fully intact for the Seattle game and he/they ran right over their arse.
But once the O-line health went to shite so did the offense.
Imagine that.
I'll hammer that fricking point home until I'm tired.

Taysom - 13 completions 2 tds.
Taysom - 9 receptions 2 tds.
Taysom - 96 rush atts. 7 tds.
Taysom - avg. 6 yds. per rush att.
The Saints failed in not utilizing him more in the offense.

Well maybe Sean Payton will scoop him up that’s his boy anyway.

The saints failed in having an offensive coordinator who didn’t know how to get his best player the ball in open space. They failed at putting enough talent on the field. The fact that the saints relied on a gadget player to move the football is enough proof that offense is and was absolute garbage. I like hill and i like him in very small doses. Hill isn’t the problem by any means but more hill is def not the solution to this offense. The less you see of Hill the better this offense will most likely be.

Hill will continue to have the same role as he's always had in nola. He was never a TE and he will never be a TE

quote:Would be nice if he offered something of value for Taysom. That contract he gave him will come back to haunt us as we keep having to kick it down the road. Hill is almost 33. How much longer can his body take the beating it takes?
