Between the ET hands, the look of being on his tippy toes, and the random 2019 trophy, this edit is poo

Literally just assumed we borrowed the women’s natty trophy but photo shopping a random 2019 final four trophy speaks volumes to the McMahon era the poster itself looks like a Lisa Frank notebook cover

.

Pretty sure that's not an LSU graphic. Its done by Tipton Graphics who does posts for On3, so its their work. Still absolutely horrible all the way around and the more you look at it the worse it gets

Yes the announcers said he has a 7’5” wingspan and a 43” vertical. I don’t see evidence of the 43” vertical, but he jumps high enough. I do see lots of evidence of the wingspan, because he blocks a lot of shots without barely jumping. He is also aggressive to get rebounds. They mentioned his dad was in the stands on one of his games, so the highlights are probably before he died. He looks like a great talent and the most pressing need for the team, unless Cook doesn’t get the waiver.

I meant the announcers said 42” vertical, but elsewhere I read a 40” vertical. It looks closer to a 35” or less vertical, but a crazy long wingspan. This seems like a great pickup. With him, Fountain, and Baker, we will be able to rebound well. I think Collins will get most of the minutes at the 5.

This appears to be a great catch! He can run, jump, dunk, dribble, defend and rebound for sure. Thanks for the footage VA tiger!

My question is whether he has many shooting moves aside from dunking which would make him a tremendous double threat? The tape only showed a few jumpers within 5 yards.

If he returns to his freshman form, then I think he is a better version of Phillips. He won’t be a huge scoring threat, but he will score about 10/game. He will also intimidate shooters, and grab rebounds at a decent clip. If he improves on that, then we will have a stud. I’m excited by the potential of this pickup.

He looked like a pogo stick in his hs videos, so he may have lost some vertical while putting on weight. I am ok with 35" :).

As for not leaving his feet to block, that is preferable and takes a ton of discipline. Probably why he was considered the best shot blocker in his hs class.

Definitely fills a need / want of rim protector. Juggling the minutes in the front court just a little harder.

I think he lost his father right after the season exhibition opener, in which he played great. Then he hurt his foot and was out for 3 weeks in January. Then his grandfather died near the end of the season. No one can focus on basketball under those circumstances. Also, he was already skinny, but then lost about 15 lbs grieving over the death of his dad. I'm a little surprised that he didn't return to a Texas school, but I'm thrilled he chose LSU. He is very talented. He was the 14th top prospect nationally in 2021 with a rating of 98 by 247, and a transfer prospect of 91. I think that transfer prospect is very low due to his recent performances, but the potential is nearer to 98. This is a great risk/reward commitment.

LINK

Here is a picture that shows that he does have long arms, so the LSU animation is not far off.

LSU desperately needed a boost in frontcourt defense and rebounding. Collins has the physical tools to provide both.
