Do you designate Hurd as the Sunday guy or do keep him in the pen?

you can't go wrong with either/or, but I would say the only con about Coleman getting the nod for Sunday is his pitch count restriction.

Sounds like he’s throwing game 1 of the regional. In the post game interview they were asking Hurd about the early start time, and jokingly asked jay if he’ll keep him on an early schedule because of his performance today. Jay jokingly responded they’ll be asking for game 1 of the regional to be 9:30 am start

If Johnson thinks Hurd can duplicate his performance. He's 100% your Game 1 starter in the Regional. Coleman could be valuable in the Regional if LSU's forced into an elimination game.

I don’t understand the question. 3 game weekend series are over.

He's likely going to start game 1 of the regional, although I think we could get away with a Money start and save Hurd for a possible 4th game start or as backend to Floyd.

For the Supers, I think, whether we're up 1-0 in the series or facing elimination, we may see him come in to close out a close game. If for whatever reason we don't use him through 2 games, he'd start game 3 if it comes to that.

Start him in the regional
Use him out of the pen in the super.

Leave him in the pen. Coleman is much more consistent. Hurd has had a couple of awesome outings but he did that earlier in the year than imploded.

Coleman's pitch count is being ramped up.

Hurd is now the first guy out of the pen if you need multiple innings though. That used to be Griffin Herrinf

You just drink & get loud and let Jay make the decisions.

Listening to Jay, he's brought up multiple times that Hurd has been great in 7/8 recent appearances. He has a bunch of confidence in Hurd right now to start regional game 1 and save Skenes and Floyd for the next 2. Hurd pitching well could change everything for this team.

I would expect he starts the first game of the Regionals. If he doesn't then I would expect he pitches a do or die game 4. But I would wager the most likely scenario is Hurd, Skenes, Floyd for the Regionals. And then the Super Regionals it would be Skenes, Floyd, Hurd/Coleman.

After his last two outings, he is a starter.

He’s the #3 starter but how he’s used moving forward will depend on the situation. Other than the mental drop off when CJJ left him in, today really couldn’t have gone much better for us and for Hurd.

And I don’t think I’ve seen a 98 FB from Hurd this year and he threw a bunch at 97.

Starter! Many thought some of his earlier problems were at least partially mental. Maybe he "cleared the mechanism today".

Like that Jay left him in a few more batters when it looked like he was close to done today. That's gotta help his state of mind.

As soon as I think I need him, I'm pitching him. If the opportunity doesn't present itself, he's my #3 starter. Same goes for Coleman.
