Cleaned a few cats today and some had eggs. Do y’all just open up the sac and scrape eggs out, wash in colander under running water, make balls or patties, batter, fry?

I've never heard of anyone eating catfish eggs lol. Choupique eggs yes, but cats no.

Catfish eggs aren’t good. Fry bream or white perch eggs.(Dad would fry the egg sacks whole. I didn’t care for them myself.)

Gonna have to disagree with y’all on this one. I took the eggs out of the sacs then washed several times under running water until water was clean. I soaked them in milk for about 3 hours. I created small balls then dredged in Louisiana fish fry and fried until golden brown. They really don’t have much flavor at all but the texture was slightly creamy and not gritty at all. I would 100% cook this again the day of the catch.

Because I like to use as many parts of any animal that I catch or kill. First opportunity that I’ve had, so was just asking for advice then sharing feedback after the cook.

i don’t think I’ve ever cleaned a catfish that was full of eggs. Trout eggs are great I don’t see why catfish eggs wouldn’t be

My dad used to soak soft shell turtle eggs in milk with some seasoning and eat them raw.

I know a few chefs that buy them off of fishemen and make cured egg sacks called botarga. Shaves like parmesean once cured. I find it rather foul. Smoked trout roe on the other hand is pure crack.

Hell ya and I hardly know anyone who eats them anymore. Most people look at me like I'm crazy when I talk about frying them up.

Unsolicited, but fried speckled trout eggs are my favorite food.

just toss em back in the water, they will hatch or be fish food, either way is better than trying to cook them. catfish eggs are much different and they are unlike other fish that have egg sacks
