I mean It is a franchise completelt h like James Bond in that only 1 actor has ever played him.

Should they have passed the torch? Probably.

Honestly though, idk if I’d even be into a reboot. The plots more than anything have what been holding back the last couple of movies.

Apologizing for Paperclip is about on par with guilt over Hiroshima.

Ding ding. And of course yet another movie about Nazis (I'm sure there's some references to conservatives in there).

I was told by the MTV board anti-woke league that a movie w/bad reviews is actually probably going to be good so this is obviously a good sign.

Raiders was brilliant--even still today. (I've re-watched it multiple times on the big screen in recent years.) I haven't watched Temple since I was a kid, but I don't remember it having the same impact on me as the first one. I probably need to re-watch it. Skull was the third one I watched and thought it was OK--but fairly bland. I finally watched Crusade last year and absolutely hated it. Not sure why it's so many people's favorite. I’ll most likely pass on seeing the fifth.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY retains the action, humor & spirit of the franchise even if James Mangold can’t measure up to Spielberg’s cinematic brilliance. Harrison Ford gets the dignified ending his iconic character deserves but Phoebe Waller-Bridge steals the show!

This!

I wholeheartedly agree. Hollywood all too often can't help itself and must screw-up a perfect movie franchise.

It’s kind of funny that most movies on this site that critics shite on, the consensus is “critics suck. If they hate the movie, I’ll probably love it.” But this is different because everyone wants to hate this movie.

You’ve got it all figured out don’t you

ETA: And of course Dr RC rattled off the same line

It's a pretty common thing here for the same general posters to claim a highly reviewed movie got those reviews b/c woke critics were paid off while crying that poorly reviewed movies were screwed by fart sniffing woke critics who trash whatever Disney tells them to trash.

Funny how hardly any of y'all can take a joke all while claiming its everyone else who is too sensitive these days.

I just read BBCs review mocking the movie as Indiana Jones cowers in a corner while his goddaughter does all the work.

Ummm yeah

If BBC thinks your movie has gone too far, it's fricking over. What a shame.

Can't believe this franchise waited for movie #5 to finally feature Nazis.

"But it does all this in an even gloomier fashion than The Force Awakens did.

I'm not sure how many fans want to see Indiana Jones as a broken, helpless old man who cowers in the corner while his patronising goddaughter takes the lead, but that's what we're given, and it's as bleak as it sounds." BBC

The Last Crusade is a near perfect summer blockbuster movie. It was also a perfect finale to Indians Jones.

Trotting out Ford another time really
Is a shame. Should’ve handed it over to Chris Pratt and rebooted it.
