I think the staff is better than the performances we have seen throughout SEC play.

My theory, they will be better in Regionals when they get away from the evaluation of the SEC umpires. The regional umpires will call strikes and batters will have to protect on close pitches.

LSU pitchers have thrown good pitches on the corners and batters learned the umps this season as much as they learn the pitchers.

LoL at the bad spelher

One can only hope and, also, that’s why we play the games.

UMPs everywhere are calling tight zones. If you're leaning on a change of scenery from umpires to help our pitching staff... good luck

that's been an issue. no matter the strike zone, we have not thrown a high % of competitively close pitches.

Oof.

You spelled this so bad, you can't even lie and say it was a typo.

If they spell REGIONAL like that we aren’t going anywhere.

While I hope your are correct, I saw a lot of balls that would take a completely blind or paid off ump to call a strike.

I think the path to better pitching is time and a couple of guys continuing to get healthier and last longer.

Most of our bullpen can’t throw competitive pitches. If I was any team I would just sit fastball and refuse to swing at anything else.

our pitchers are walking batters on 4 straight pitches that are not close to being strikes.

Let’s assume your theory is accurate, which I have thought abou, as well. The flip side of that coin is that batters will have to adjust to a slightly larger strike zone, also. Will we see more strikeouts? Who will adjust better and faster?

sounds like an over the counter i need to take when watching our bullpen. take 2 reginol's, a handle of bourbon, and sit back and watch.

The ump calling Floyd's last outing is what this team needs consistently

Some of the pitching calls have been perplexing. Money was throwing change ups to start Tuesday and getting down 2-0. Reminds me of AA ball where they make a pitcher throw change ups the entire outing.

I know they use mid week games to tune up but sometimes it seems ridiculous.
