That Josh guy?
No, he is not. I am not aware of any employment he has with the university. In fact, he has gone on rants before for being denied the opportunity to have Cajuns coaches on his podcast.

He's really gonna be pissed when Moscona shouts out Catholic High to the detriment of the high schools in Lafayette

I appreciate his passion in trying to replace lost Cajuns content from when Townsquare media shite on local radio and Gannett/Daily Advertiser shite on itself trying to be any sort of relevant local media outlet, but he can get into some of the weirdest drama stuff that he should leave alone.
Southern Miss’s athletic website appears to refer to us by our preferred athletic branding of “Louisiana Ragin Cajuns”, as did their beat guy/baseball media guy in an interview I heard yesterday regarding our series against them this week.
Not sure why Cajun fans wouldn’t return the favor…unless this is some sort of rivalry “hate week” thing he’s trying to drum up for fun. I don’t follow twitters much, so no idea if there was context to that labeling.

Looks like from those idiotic emails that the ridicule is absolutely deserved

Cajun fans might, but this douche has a stick so far up his arse about disrespect regarding ULL that he will shite on any other school regardless of camaraderie or even official names.

Yeah, it’s actually pretty weird. It’s almost as if Moscona had his girlfriend stolen by a USL/UL grad and has never recovered mentally.
That said, probably the best thing the Cajun fan base could do is just ignore his petty arse and not give him more attention.

quote:I think a good example is the Artemis sorority person on the OT currently. It's a dude, everyone can see it's a dude, all the while it is saying its a girl as it runs around with a boner in it's leggings. It is ULL, it has been ULL since 1999. Yet it keeps trying to come out as Louisiana so people think it's the flagship of the UL System. I still don't understand why when given the opportunity to change their name USL didn't go with The University of Acadiana, well know why the school has been trying to be 'Louisiana' since the 80's, that aside though Acadiana Ragin Cajuns works. The reason I've heard for UL vs ULL is they don't want to be associated with ULM, Acadiana would have achieved that and ULM could have stayed NLU. I prefer to just call them the Cajuns because that's doesn't seem to ruffle any feathers. I've seen the back and forth on here all through the years, and if memory serves the institution agreed to be ULL and even agreed to not try and remove the L in any official capacity or branding. Sounds like the branding plight is call us what we want even though we said we wouldn't try and make people call us this.
find analogous to our "branding" plight

I don’t follow UL’s athletics at all, but I do refer to them as Louisiana when talking to LSU fans because I know it triggers some of them.

What’s the deal with them being so upset about being referred to as ULL? Are they not the University of Louisiana-Lafayette?
It goes back to a state legislature decision to overturn the name UL in 1984. I won’t get into the details, it’s been explained on this board way too many times and nobody cares.
I’ve never had a hard on for the UL name but saying ULL or Louisiana-Lafayette or UL-Lafayette is very clunky. When people ask me where I went to to school I usually just say something like I was a Ragin Cajun

“Louisiana” is for athletics. Just like Nevada-Reno branding itself Nevada Wolfpack.
When people from out of state (I travel alot for work) ask me where I graduated from, I say “Louisiana-Lafayette”. If it’s someone from Louisiana, I just say UL because everyone from Louisiana these days, whether they like it or not, knows what ‘UL’ means.
However, if talking sports with those out of state folks, the vast majority of them these days know what “Louisiana” means and what school it’s referring to, especially if they’re from the part of the country that has a SEC, Big 12, CUSA, Sun Belt footprint. Granted having an actual Top 25 relevant football team finally within the past few seasons greatly accelerated that recognition.
It’s an athletic branding just like Nevada, an MWC program. Plain and simple as that.

Ill give you that it's definitely a bit clunky to say ULL. The time to fight that was before that decision was made though. Honestly if there had been some sort of agreement then for yall to be the "University of Louisiana" I really wouldnt care now.
Also Dr. Bruno caving and letting yall run with "Louisiana" was the most frustrating thing of his tenure as president of ULM.

I wish ULM would start calling themselves UL.
They have as much right to it as ULALa

The "LSU" Rule. Wharton was a pussy, like most Baby Huey's. Hold everyone else down, to prop themselves up. Microcosm for the state politically and economically. Every man a "king".

riiiiight, because LSU could never be successful if they didn't hold down the mighty cajuns from Lafayette.

The official name of the university is the University of Louisiana Lafayette and UL-L. Matt Moscona is calling the university by its official name.

they equate themselves with schools like
North Carolina (who don't use Chapel Hill in their names)
Texas (at Austin)
etc.

Way to reinforce the little bro U stereotype. My favorite ULL fans are the ones that wear purple too on occasion. This is not a rivalry.
ULL is not a disrespectful or incorrect term.
