The California Reparations Task Force, a committee created by legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, formally recommended that the state legislature repeal a constitutional amendment that prohibits the government from discriminating against, or granting preferential treatment to, someone based on their race.

Last weekend, the task force formally approved its final recommendations to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures and send them to the governor's desk to be signed into law.

Seriously??!!?? Only Democrats could make people excited about legal racism.

They know they have to do this to pay only blacks.

The backlash will be hilarious.

Or they will just add that back in after most are paid.

Still wondering where the money will come from though.

Racial discrimination is already legal to fix past wrongs.

Why do you think affirmative action is allowed?

Californians believe black people are inferior and cannot survive without help.

Maybe I am being naïve or just holding onto hope, but I can't imagine this really happens. The entire concept is so ridiculous and short sighted and would crush the state financially. Not to mention, seems like it would elevate racial tensions, once non-black tax payers have the cost passed to them.
My 54 year old brain can't understand how anyone can think this is a good path. If it does happen, blacks won't stop there..... it will only encourage them to seek more.

They’ll be offended when 90% of the state all of a sudden identifies as black. What would stop someone?

I hope they get everything they want and that every other deep blue state follows suit. In return I hope people in red states that support such things all pack up and head off to more "diverse" pastures.

If any of you are doubting that we need to split this country up, you need therapy.

A buddy of mine had this thought- "We want reparations for racism, and we want to remove the law that make's racism illegal.”

It would crush us ALL. You don't think that CA is actually going to pay for it themselves, do you?

Good reason to kick Cali out of the union.

And if Cali is no longer a state, that is a lot of EVs that get reapportioned.

Since MLK was killed, the people who picked up the torch and the organizations like the NAACP and ACLU have actively promoted an ideology that is literally diametrically opposite of what Dr. King struggled and died for.

King just wanted equality and for there to be a general peace between races. The modern progressive extremist wants racially biased police written into law and practiced with extreme prejudice.

Bizarro world.

Meh. King was a philandering commie.

My guess is that in private this all would be pleasing to him.

You’re referring to the federal law, which may not be the case in CA.
