What do we expect from this show? Never seen them but have seen Bobby with Rat Dog a few times. Might get a little wet but we are ready.

apparently one of the last shows?

Bill bowed out?

vibes are weird with the whole billy thing but the tribe will be happy to be there. Expect the same as it’s always been, live dead music for your head

see you out there I’ll be the dude in the tie dye shirt

We had a large group and everyone enjoyed. The shakedown was the best. He’s gone, second favorite. The crowd was as expected, super chill and nice for the most part. Thought we’d get a special guest encore but George Porter must’ve been better buddies with Billy the week before.

George had to get to his show at the republic. I’m glad they did the skull and bones thing instead...George coming out with the dead to play sugaree is kind of a cliche at this point.

do something new. It was really cool to see

that was definitely a bucket list show, the dead (ish) at jazz fest. Glad I was there

I get the nostalgia aspect but the music is unlistenably bad IMHO

I overall liked it and enjoyed myself. But I agreed when my wife (non-head) said “it was ok but kind of underwhelming”. Summed it up perfectly. Start was better than the finish.

Also, I think had I gone up front instead of being way back w kids, I’d have a different take. Maybe.

That’s a good way of putting it. I thought Not Fade Away was a highlight. They have a sweet groove for that one. Also, they gave Chimenti plenty of space during a lot of jams, which I appreciated.

The Skull & Bones thing during Drums was a nice twist and made that pretty enjoyable.

after JF Saturday, I saw Eric Lindell at d.b.a. …. He frequently plays NOLA music venues and is the real deal. If you enjoy live music, go see this cat play … bluesy rock and soul with horns

They played the following set list from basically 4:30 to 7:00 … non-stop

Truckin' >
Shakedown Street
Brown-Eyed Women
He's Gone >
Cumberland Blues
Playing in the Band > (seemed like a 15 improv jam) >
Uncle John's Band >
Drums with Skull and Bones >
Not Fade Away >
The Other One >
Standing on the Moon >
Not Fade Away (reprise)

They killed it, Stuart Bogie really raised the level.
