“This morning, I made an unforgivable mistake slipping on air while reading a song lyric,” Mintz tweeted Monday morning after reading the slur aloud during his show “Wake Up Mintzy.”

“I meant no harm & have never felt worse about anything. I apologize for my actions. I am truly sorry & ashamed of myself.”

It's high time we stopping saying weak shite like this. It's a fricking word in a song. If the word is so fricking bad, remove it from all of media and make it bad for anyone to say. Otherwise, quite being a bitch.

Maybe white people shouldn't listen to music that makes black people hate them?

You can't avoid the word in that culture. Maybe avoid the culture?

Sorry that happened.

As much live, unscripted content as they product, it's amazing this doesn't happen more often.

A white person CAN NOT USE THE N WORD on TV/Radio/Print without risking getting fired/canceled.

But I’m guessing that whoever wrote and sang the lyrics is celebrated for it. Great times we are living in.

If MFers don't want me to sing the lyric of the song, stop putting the lyric in the song. Until then, eat my arse.

That being said, I don't use the word because I'm soft, and don't want to be canceled.

ETA: ohh, and because its racist.

He deserves to be fired for making this statement not the original.

Never apologize just because someone was unintentionally offended.

But that's not what happened though, right? He didn't "use" the word; he literally read if off of the paper (or his phone). He was reading rap lyrics, wasn't he?

He didn't "use" it at anybody or call someone the N word. He literally read it from a song lyric. And regardless of the dude himself or if you like him or not, that is absolutely a ludicrous reason for him to be fired IMO.

Did he really use a "racial slur" though?

It’s a fricking song lyric, if you aren’t directing it to someone there is no malice and no reason to be in an uproar about it.

Who wrote the song? Have they been fired (or cancelled)?

Oh wait, they aren't required to follow the same rules, right?

When I hear that word it is normally preceded by the word “fricking”

Why apologize? Frick that. Either don't say stupid stuff when you know you don't get a pass. Or you own it and say "Take it out from the song".
