Adding to this: Trautman asked for a trade back in February, the Broncos had been interested a long time, and he knew that a trade was potentially coming during the draft, but didn’t know it would be Denver until later in the process.

trautman for jumping 60 spots in a draft. It pisses me off giving teams shite picks back, just shows you who has upper hand in trades.

I don't blame the guy. Obviously he know that CDA and Mickey were planning to upgrade the position. (fwiw I do believe they were targeting Schoonmaker for the 3rd or 4th but Dallas pulled the trigger on him in the 2nd when the Bills took Kincaid in the 1st then LaPorte, Mayer and Musgrove all came off the board quick in the top of Rd 2)

Dallas reached on Schoonmaker but if they hadn't IMO the Saints would have grabbed him at 71 for the same reason Dallas did at 58.

Then it was mutually beneficial, cause he is not a good football player.

This is what's funny about NFL fans. We believe the rookies coming in are great while hating the players that didn't pan out. I remember fans thinking the same thing about Trautman when we drafted him as you think about Perry.

Why don't we pump the brakes on the love affairs with UDFAs and even the drafted players until we learn more about them during the coming years, and also why don't we stop hating on players that didn't pan out? You people have become insufferable.

He wasn't real good at catching, running or blocking, but aside from that, he was a body on the line.

knowing we were trading trautman and passing on Mayer on Musgrave makes it more difficult to accept.

Is TE going the way of the RB? It seems teams just want a big body that can run and catch and calling him a TE rather than putting a big body that can block and catch that has traditionally been a TE. The position seems to have switches from a hybrid OL/WR to just a big WR.

where did we draft him? just wondering if we got a better pick then we already used to get him or was it a push. obviously, we got a better player by trading him.

LOL... Moron, I am talking about Trautman wanting out of the Saints organization... As far as I am concerned Perry IS better for the Saints than Trautman...
