No doubt. One person is saying when there are 3 lanes the far left is for driving the speed limit.

No op was passing, which he is legally allowed to do. Not his problem some a-hole doesn't have patients or follow laws.

All lanes are for driving the speed limit.

It's there for a reason, do you not know what laws are?

Just thunk its funny how some will whine and moan about someone breaking one law while they are actively breaking another.

OP was using the left lane as intended, to pass slower traffic. He did nothing wrong.

It's not his obligation to move out of the assholes way if he is passing, a-hole can wiat till he's passed and moved back over.

Sorry bro, didn't realize you were out there policing the highways.

'preciate all your hard work.

Stay in the left lane and keep the peace.

Also, OP never said he was doing the speed limit, so you might want to investigate him.

I drive from Baton Rouge to New Orleans about 2-3 days a week in the morning. Had a solid black crotch rocket motorcycle pass me on the shoulder, going across the Bonnet Carre bridge doing probably 85. I was doing 72 and he screamed by me. It was 7am ish.

You aren’t the left lane police. So while it’s all well and good that you’re passing “as you should”, you need to get the hell out of the way and let him by. Regardless of whether he’s speeding or not.

This shite is so stupid.

Only on the OT is someone the bad guy for not scrambling to cut back in immediately when another driver is suddenly tailgating him, after swerving across 3 lanes of traffic at 95 mph. Y’all are trying way too hard.

Again, both were in the wrong.

Maybe we can change the OP behaviour though.

Way more reckless drivers post anti-police movements. I have witnessed 2 major accidents caused by reckless drivers so far this year.

On my way out of NOLA heading towards Slidell on Saturday afternoon, a gray GMC Sierra with a woman driver passed me on the left shoulder as I was passing someone on my right. Insane move on her part.

If I'm passing other cars(as it's seems op was doing according to his post) you can wait till I'm done passing said cars and I get back over. I do enjoy these posts though. The hypocrisy of those who scream and beat their chest because someone is breaking the law and driving too slow in the left lane. All while breaking the law speeding and probably playing on their cellphone. Left lane is for passing, but legally still obeying the speed limit

That’s not how it’s supposed to work. Move over if you can’t quickly pass or soon you too will be breaking the law in many states. So please, obey the law and stay out of the left lane, snail.

EVERYONE likes to think they’re only in the left lane for a bit…just never works like that.

I think what you're experiencing is an accumulation of recent experience. And are we considering "left lane for passing only" as Improper Lane Usage when it is violated? I don't want to do 85, I just don't want to be next to assholes and assholetes on their phones while driving.

I've spent two decades on I-10/I-12, and I-85 wondering why they're busing scrolling through the gram. Does this happen on I-65? Not so much. Don't know why. Eventually, people that are into driving with a purpose stop giving a flying F. I spend extra time to drive up from Houston to Dallas *avoiding* I-45 because of how people drive.

If you're trying to pass, I give respectful distance, but I am always aware, particularly on I-10, of someone that is going to slide in the gap and sit there for 15 miles blocking me from getting the hell away from the inattentive drivers. I'm stunned he could do 95 in Baton Rouge, because I can only manage to maintain that for more than about 30 seconds in anywhere but rural Texas, and certainly never in South LA.

You can certainly rely on people between the bridge and well past the split to not give two shits about making progress, and I don't trust any of them. They need to be in my rearview.

I drive about 50k miles a year

I’ve noticed the last few years the flow of traffic absolutely hauls arse. Doing 90 and riding in traffic has become a regular occurrence

Also, I think vehicles handle much better now than 10 years ago so that’s a contributing factor

Just start ticketing a-hole truck drivers who insist on passing another truck in the right lane going 70 by getting in the left lane and going 70.5.

When you see thirty vehicles behind that truck because it takes him 5 miles to pass the other truck, pull it over and ticket him/her.

Usually what I do is get to the right to let the car pass, then immediately get behind them after they pass and trail them at a faster speed than what I was originally doing. The guy in front of me is much more likely to get caught and I keep moving along .
