I'm not sure about the idiot part (may or may not be true) but one thing social media has done is convince people that if they don't see it or experience it then it must not exist. It's part of the great divide and plays into an over inflated awareness of ones self worth.
It's given people the false reality that their opinion or experiences matter to others more than they do. It's lured people into believing that their filter bubble is the same as everyone else's. It's severely hindered people's understanding and respect of perspective and the ability to just be indifferent or even ignorant on some things.
People are now authoritative on all topics. Their phones and computers give them a teeny tiny glimpse into lives of those all over the world but it makes them feel as if they are the great wizard behind the curtain.

And that’s precisely why it was idiotic to say. If you’re going to make a statement of fact(such as: he still hasn’t apologized), you could have at the very least checked out his social media to see if he has.
Otherwise…..maybe don’t make a statement of fact.

Late to this thread, but it honestly would have been more surprising if Morgan Wallen or any other pop country singer actually had the fortitude to perform a concert while hammered and/or hungover.

ETA: what Wallen did is more akin to cultural appropriation (which I think is a lame concept to begin with) than it is to racism
