cool to see lightly-used Merrifield, Travinski, and Stevenson celebrating at home

nice 2023 moment for three guys who have been used as backups. Loved the win

I don’t like to think of them as back ups, but more as role players.
Every player on this roster has a role to play, and Jay is putting them in the right spot to fill that role. When it’s time to lock down the defense, I absolutely want Stevenson and Merrifield in the game. If I need a big time PH, I want Travinski ready to role.
Jay has done an amazing job of moving players around and getting the absolute most out of his roster. I love it.

Great catch by Stevenson.
We all saw what Travinski did with the bat, but lost is him behind the plate in the 9th blocking a few pitches in a 1 run gams with the tying run on.

Everyone saw today that baseball is such a team sport. Everyone contributed today in some way!!! Jay Johnson isn't perfect but IMO is the best coach in the country! Happy he's at LSU!

On another note Jobert actually made a few plays at third as well that could have easily gone the other way. He stepped up big time.

Any of those three could have understandably gone into the portal but no they all decided to stick with LSU
