Word is that teams have been calling SF about Lance.

Do you think the Saints were one of those teams?

Not asking if he is the future or even a fit here.

Do you think we called?

You don’t want a 2nd string QB making that much. Even on rookie contract.

I could be mistaken, but I think we just signed a QB.

Do you remember signing Carr?

Doubt they are letting him go for anything besides significant draft capital. They only have two QBs on their roster and one is coming off UCL surgery.

Would be stupid to trade Lance at this point.

If I had to guess, the Texans would be one. They have Ryans as their new coach and rumor is the only QB they are enamored with in this draft is Young (who likely is going #1).

Highly doubtful. They just signed a deal with Derek Carr and are more focused on getting depth at key positions. Plus Lance isn't going to be ready by the time the season comes, so I doubt the Saints would invest heavily in a recovering backup. If Lance does get traded it will be to a team using a bridge QB and are looking in the short term future.

Probably teams that don’t have high enough pick for one of top 4 QBs this yr or Houston who wants to not draft a QB at 2

Not a chance...because even if you ignore the fact we sign Carr to that deal we also re signed Winston.

Lance would be an unnecessary highly paid 3rd QB

Reportly the Vikings had discussions on trading for him before reworking Cousin's contract.

Makes sense, since they seem to be interested in former first round picks that cost their teams numerous first rounders to move up for and were hurt more than healthy in their career.

This would be a Heath Shuler type of move (if we hadn't already signed Carr).

Hopefully not. I do not understand the hype with this guy.
