I’m in the Florida panhandle and I got an amber alert for Dade county (Miami) at 4:50am today, 12+ hour car drive from me? Come on. How can we at least not send them more locally?

Sorry that someone’s missing child is an inconvenience for you

People move around. 12 hour drive isn't that far.

Are you so important you cannot be briefly inconvenienced for the safety of a child?

A) It’s a hair under 10 hours from century, fl to Miami so not sure where you’re getting 12+ from

B) if they don’t know where they’re headed or think they may be headed you’re direction that’s why you’re getting it.

C) it’s a two second inconvenience to try and save a kid. Get over it

You know you can turn it off in your settings?

ETA: I turned mine and all my family’s off so I don’t get woken up in the middle of the night

If they are going to send alerts and wake people up in the middle of the night people are going to turn the alerts off.

Absolutely no reason to wake up literally 10 million people that are sleeping prior to 6am especially prior to 5am.

That’s my point. Middle of the day? Sure send it. Middle of the night? You probably just convinced 200,000 people to turn the alerts off.

we totally should be bothered by what frequently turns out to be a custodial disagreement amongst family.

it’s a stupid system that is nothing but a cash grab for government contractors who run the it. has something like a .05% chance of helping

all Fl toll roads and highway entrance license readers anyway and they can absolutely do cell location lookups via lawful intercept based on license plate #. Totally pointless and a waste of taxpayer money.

That’s my point, typical government idiocracy. Now it’s made useless because of poor management.

The hours should be something like 8am to 8pm.

Plus 99.99% of them are domestic disputes

I am in central FL, aboot 4 hours from Miami, and got the alert around midnight. They must think the kidnapper has gone hammer down. It is usually the non-custody parent.

I appreciate the Amber alert but if you live near a metro they are often. Had to turn them off.

Along with IPhone wanting to search for cleaner energy to charge my phone (by default after update).

It’s messed up how the breeders always have to force their children on us child free people who just want to live our lives

We go to breweries to have a good time and yalls monsters are climbing over everything, they make noise during our marvel movies, clog up the lines at Disney world, and when we try to sleep y’all blast us with amber alerts

We get it, y’all have kids. But some of us choose to do the right thing and not have them due to climate change, etc

Wrong

quote:

Of the 254 AMBER Alerts issued from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, 252 cases resulted in a recovery, 51 of which were successfully recovered as a direct result of an AMBER Alert being issued. As of March 1, 2022, when statistics for this report were finalized for the AMBER Alerts issued in 2021, two children remained actively missing and two children were located deceased. Eleven cases were later determined to be hoaxes, and 19 cases were later determined to be unfounded. For cases not determined to be hoaxes or unfounded, there were 139 family abductions (FA); 74 nonfamily abductions (NFA); seven lost, injured, or otherwise missing (LIM); and four endangered runaways (ERU)

Oliver Williams

The missing child is named Oliver Williams. There is a poster whose whore girlfriend had twins for one of her other BF's, named Oliver and William.

Coincidence, or are there no coincidences?

Amber alerts are fake

The dad brings the son to a baseball game and doesn’t give him his girl hormones when the dad has him for the weekend and the mom sics the government on the dad so she can rape him worse in divorce court

I turned them off

It's not uncommon for kids to be injured in domestic disputes -- and domestic cases can escalate quite quickly, so that doesn't make it any better.

They also just reached thousands of people who are already on the road and getting to work etc. It's working as designed.

Really easy to turn those off. I don't get alerts at all, they're not my concern whatsoever. Look after your kids yourself, show some personal responsibility.
