We still have a war chest, all our future 1sts, the Lakers 24/25 first, and the Bucks 27 firsts, but we've wasted so much of what we had the last 3 years, and there's nothing promising about how Griff has used our war chest the last 3 years that makes me want him in control of it going forward.

This team, with a healthy Zion and no other changes, is a top 5 team in the NBA. Griff put this team together while still maintaining our future assets. We never went “all in” by selling off our future like so many teams often do. He’s made bad moves along the way, but overall, the Pels are in a much better place with a brighter future than before he was hired. I’m not faulting him for Zion’s inability to stay on the court.

This is why they need to do away with guaranteed contracts. He'd be in uniform if it meant getting paid.

You mean the organization would green light him if contracts weren’t guaranteed.

Zion looks just like the black version of my ex brother in law. You couldn’t count on him either

Been saying this over and over.

When you build a culture that tells players that it's ok not to play when they are 100% stuff like this trickels down.

Our medical staff and the current NBA philosophy on injuries is doing far more harm than good.

We now have a culture where players can sit on the sidelines and get paid millions simply for saying they don't feel right. Previous generations taped up and got on the couet as soon as they could physically walk.

When the NBA dries up, everyone will look back and see that this is the reason why.

Culture--

Anybody remember the trust the process crap? Couldn't believe NBA players were walking around with shirts and spouting that line at press conf

The owners should attempt to do something in the next CBA to keep these pansies from holding a team hostage. But they won’t, or can’t, because racism.

Yeah! Michael Jordan ought to do something about that.

I remember how things were before Griff. Trading away all of our picks for washed up vets in an attempt to save the last years of superstars only to fail, lose those star players, and have almost nothing to build with afterwards.

Say what?
We traded away a late 1st to not take George Hill
We got two guys in the Jrue trade that we had to use a 1st to get rid of b/c they were that bad. And we did that to ourselves by giving Adams an extension before he got here.
We traded away a pick to get Graham, then traded 4 seconds to get rid of him.

He’s been wasteful with the picks we had, and the majority of his picks made have been not good.

Like I said, we still have a war chest, and he’s proven that he shouldn’t be trusted with it.

Dude, we didn't just offload Adams. We replaced him with Jonas, who has been very valuable for us, even with his flaws.

He overpaid for Graham and I melted harder about it than anyone at the time. That said, 4 2nds wasn't a huge loss to our warchest. We don't have nearly enough roster turnover in the next few years to open roster spots for half that many picks. NBA trades usually aren't zero-sum transactions.

Again its all BS. Its PR crap. He failed conditioning metrics and they wont let him play. So now its I dont feel like Zion stuff.

I see a lot of people saying this, and I just can’t agree.

If this were the case they could simply say he’s working to get in the playing shape or simply that he’s not ready physically.

What he said today is absolutely embarrassing for him and the organization. I just can’t fathom in what realm what he told us today does anyone a favor. This is pitifully humiliating. I think he’s being 100% truthful - he’s ready physically but he’s afraid to get re-injured. You hear that some from players recovering from ACL tears. But they get out there and play and work through it. And that’s 100% what he should be doing. Jesus, it’s the freaking playoffs!

If this is what we have to look forward to every time this injury-prone player breaks a fingernail I give up on the dude.

Jordan Brand/Nike must be kicking themselves for this.

Not good for sales when Zion doesn’t play AND says this.

I love JV, but defensively he’s at best as good as Adams.
Giving Adams that extension was stupid.
We traded a 1st and moved from 10th to 17th because we had to get rid of Adams and Bledsoe.

You mean 4 seconds and a 1st.
We traded a 1st to sign a guy whose team had no realistic expectation to match our contract offer, and if they did, then oh well. You don’t trade a 1st to sign a fricking free agent.

My bad. I’m not following this every day soap opera. How much is this to do with his contract extension? Did he say he’s eligible next year to sign his extension? Is this all bc he’s not playing again til he signs that extension?
