Getting into sailing. Tips? Advice.

Went out with some friends last week on the lake in a 40' Sail boat. I really enjoyed it. So I bought a boat of my own over the weekend. It needs work but came with 6 sails and all the rigging is in great shape. Though it's set for racing and has the head and galley removed so i have to reinstall those.
I've sailed a few times and have the lingo down and can tie a knot. I guess looking for advice on little things. Best equipment. Add ons you can't live without.

Have lots of money
I've only been a sailboat once and it so much different than motor boating. For just a pleasurable day out on the water, I can't imagine anything much better than that one trip was. Enjoy it, my man. I wish I could actually give you advice but, alas, I cannot.

You going to sail it out of NOLA? Should harbor it in BSL so you can ‘get out’ easier.

I've always wanted to learn to sail, I wanted to be a pirate when I grew up.

Very expensive hobby...and a dammed lot of work in my experience. I took up sailing in 2011 and kept at it about 2 years. Very enjoyable but expensive and it is way more physically demanding than I want to put up with. I still like the idea, I don't like pulling sheets and scrambling around a pictching deck to trim sails etc. A lot of work.

Gonna keep it at municipal for now until I figure where I want to keep it. Most people I know have theirs at west end. If I want day guests that's the best place to keep it. Haven't decided yet.

Wait, wut?
Did you just go out and buy a 40' boat you don't really know how to operate?

Depending on where you keep it, if you need any help let me know. Used to work for a sailing fleet out of St. Pete Florida. Everything from 23’ up to 51’ (hunter, jeanneau, beneteau). ASA certified (up to 104 (bareboat)), 25t license, sailed from St. Pete to isla mujeres, sailed from Port Aransas to St Pete. Live in Picayune now.

Good luck. I was in Miss coast recently trying to find out if I wanted to buy one and keep it there. Be sure to take lessons for sure. Sailing is addictive.
