Every good athletic director makes the wrong hire at times. Foley at Florida is classic. Probably the best AD in sec history but made plenty of mistakes too.

The job didn't need to be filled. We already had the coach the program needed, and wanted.

what does that have do with men's basketball? All those other hires are independent of men's hoops. He made a bad hire---period

Not a single hire Woodward has made has won a national championship while at lsu.

Mulkey is literally the only hire that has won anything and is regarded as top 3 in the profession.

As usual the board sucks off everything Woodward does

McMahon has always been meant to be a short term place holder. Look at all the other hires. McMahon doesn't fit the MO for Woody.

Notre Dame was looking for an exit for Kelly, and Kelly wanted out.

Mulkey - given she’s from Louisiana, but pulling her from Baylor where she could have just glided into retirement and was on a pedestal there

Mulkey was looking for an out from Baylor, and it all just fell into place since she's from Louisiana. If Mulkey would have been from Mississippi she'd be at Ole Miss, or from Florida she'd be in Gainsville.

No reason to hire him. Could have easily had Pitino, but Woodward Panicked. Even knowing he would have to likely replace Wade all he could get was McMahon. Jesus, what about the FAU coach, or any other big name who would love to get to a school like LSU. He hired McMahon.

It’s funny because everyone seemed to understand the situation when he was hired. Then we expectedly struggle and suddenly it was a terrible hire.

Please stop posting this false narrative.

Why can “Mulkey bring in 9 new players and reach the Final 4” as well as other men’s coaches make strong runs, but McMahon barely won a conference game with 3 transfers that won 31 the previous season and a Top 20 draft class? Could it be possible he isn’t a good coach?

Brian Kelly is meh. And he set the basketball program back 10 years. But hey at least we have baseball! A fringe sport that MAYBE 15-20 schools even give a shite about.

I personally love everything he has does except firing the best head basketball coach that we have seen at Lsu…
We should have a football team that finished 2nd in the sec, baseball team currently ranked #1 team in a he country a woman’s team currently in the final four and a mens basketball team that would have made it to the tournament for the 4th year in a row.. we were on track in backetball and now are not

The last time we had a AD like Woody, Bottom Line Bob. Some of you younger folks might want to look up Bob Broadhead, see who he hired.

As for Woody, he helped stick aTm with Jimbo.

Here's a breakdown of what A&M would pay to fire Fisher at the end of each of these seasons:

• 2022 - $85,950,000
• 2023 - $76,800,000
•2024 - $67.550,000
• 2025 - $58,200,000
• 2026 - $48,750,000
•2027 - $39,200,000
• 2028 - $29.550,000
• 2029 - 19,800,000
• 2030 - $9,950,000

Woody does his job when selecting Coaches. Making the right fit, not an easy job. Folks don’t really know how fortunate we are to have him.
