Yep, Trump started at the bottom and had nothing handed to him. He knows the struggle of the everyday America because he lived it. He loves to hunt, and attended church his whole life, not just when politically beneficial.

When it comes to politicians, you have to look at what they have done vs what they say or what you may have read about them. DeSantis has walked the walk so far in Florida. That state is doing well, and for a state with multiple large cities, it faired better than most during Covid. DeSantis has another big thing going for him: A large percentage of the population doesn't think he sounds like a fricking joke when he talks.

Oh, and Desantis has succeeded but for the immeasurable benefit of a rubber stamp legislature. Those fun times will unfortunately come to a screeching halt in the relatively near future, and it won’t be automatic “wins” any longer.
