BR residents should vote no on the school taxes too, but they won't.

All these "conservatives" will vote for it and the D's will vote against it here in backasswordsville.

I'm starting to think we should run up taxes to keep BR from spreading this direction.

I live in a highly Red district. I get to vote for MTG. And we pass every tax hike that is proposed As long as it goes to the schools.

Good Luck.

Our Representatives and Senators don’t represent us. Voting NO on taxes is the only real power the citizenry has.

They only let citizens vote for the popular stuff. Schools, Police, Firefighters. Anything not popular the politicians vote on themselves. It's unethical but I don't see it changing.

The bottom line is that the results of this election will have a huge impact on the quality of education that the students of LP will receive. EBR and Tangipahoa Parish voters passed this same tax so schools in Central and Zachary along with Ascension schools can pay teachers $5,000-$6,000 more. Therefore, we are losing large numbers of teachers throughout the district. There aren’t enough certified teachers to fill the vacancies so schools are having to lower their standards and hire non-certified teachers. I submit that 1 cent per $ on some purchases is worth paying to provide our students with a quality education.

It’s why my wife will leave if not passed. Schools in the area are becoming daycare.

Don’t you livingston Parish voted down the increase in school taxes.

All Louisiana parishes need to vote down school taxes until the illegal aliens get thrown out of our schools!

EBR school taxes don’t affect central or Zachary. And the last time Zachary tried to pass a new sales tax it failed badly.

They came here for the schools. The last of my brood goes to The Dunham School.

Here in Georgia they have what they call Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes (SPLOST). The usually equal a 1% sales tax to fund schools (...usually). They are also presented on the ballot damned near every election. They either want a new one, or they want to extend an old one.

My vote is an automatic NO.
Every. Single. Time.

NO.
