Any recommendations for a home gym?

Looking to get in shape and don’t really have a gym close to me. Budget around $1K or less. Any difference with bands/resistance machines vs weights? Obviously Bowflex pops up everywhere, so I assume it’s the leading brand. What do you guys/gals recommend?
Already have a treadmill.

The possibilities are infinite. Get equipment you like to use.

I got an Echelon bike, bench w/ incline/decline, Bowflex adjustable dumbbells. Just added a Jayflex hyperbar.

1k or less...hit up craigslist for equipment

If you are looking to get in shape I would look in to getting kettlebells. Take up less space and a lots of work outs available online for free.

I wouldn’t invest in one machine. There are so many more versatile items you can use.
Here are some ideas:
Kettlebells. You can kick your arse with just one 36lb kettlebell to start. You will eventually want to get a pair of the same weight.
A pull-up bar or rings. If squats are the king of the lower body, I think, pull ups are the king of the upper body.
A ruck sack or weight vest with 20-45lbs. You can add this for hikes, runs, push-ups, pull-ups, dips, etc.
A dip bar or rings (rings are great because you can do pull-ups and dips)
A barbell with 200lbs of weights (see if you can find them used).
I used to have a DIY squat/bench rack made out of two 8 foot 4x4s and two buckets of concrete. Buy a cheap bench.
You get any combination of 2-3 of the above and you can build months of programming.
As someone above said, get something you enjoy. The best equipment is any equipment that you will use.

Bullworker Iso-Flo. $120 and it really is a nice workout.
