I am not so sure I would stop myself after hitting one of these drug addicted derelicts walking in the road. They have yet to release the victims name as if no family has come forth in her defense. Just sayin'.

It’s possible this baw was drunk, so he decided to keep driving until he sobered up. If he stops, I think the charges will be worse for being drunk.

In most cities it’s called jaywalking and it’s an arrestable offense

I don’t think he got arrested for hitting someone. He got arrested probably for leaving the scene.

On the other hand, baw might have been lit like a Christmas tree and didn’t want the DUI

Wait...so was this person just walking in the street? Friend of mine had a similar thing happen to him last year. Was passing under the cloverleaf on airline and a junkie just stepped out in front of him. The hobo got his arm ripped off (hope it was his shooting arm). By buddy stopped, absolutely freaking out. Cops came and didn't even give him a ticket.

I have to think this guy was drunk or something because I can understand freaking out. But you don't run away from the scene. It's not like there was a crosswalk

Freaked out? Of course he was. The last place he wants to go is jail. A soft 22 y/o with a ****y haircut and a lopsided face? I'm hauling arse too.

And I may be mistaken, but bond is basically set as an inducement to appear in court. If you're a flight risk - high bond. No flight risk - low to no bond. You're still innocent until proven guilty in this country.

ETA: perhaps I should have written "a haircut performed by a homosexual gay man."

No matter what, he should have stopped and called 911 if he had a working phone and waited for police.

He was either intoxicated or just a irresponsible selfish punk. If it was an attepted carjacking, I think it would have already been reported.

The odd thing is that the woman was found in a parking lot nearby, so it sounds like she was able to walk and (we don`t know how far) with deadly injuries.

Maybe there will be an update after police investigate.

Maybe we will get an update on why the bond was so low too. It sure doesn`t sound right.
