That video of the dude catching one is nuts. It just keeps slowly coming more and more out of the ground, and then snaps in half. So the dude grabs it and pulls it out of the ground, and it looks like the entire thing was upwards of 6+ feet long.

I read up on Wiki about them, and supposedly the longest one ever recorded was 9 and a half feet.
