I’m The One is such a scorcher! Some of Eddie’s best guitar work.

I remember hearing it at a friend’s house for the first time… I knew Eddie was making those sounds with a guitar but I had no idea how. It didn’t sound like any guitar I had ever heard before that day

"Atomic Punk"
Sneaky their most intense song ever. It's just pure energy.

quote:

"Little Dreamer"
His tone on this is face-melting.

Ain't Talking About Love is a personal favorite of mine...just always brings me back...

And I know people have the love hate with it...but I love some Ice Cream Man...yeah, kitschy...but to me, songs like this, Big Bad Bill, etc are what shows Van Halens fun and talent

That riff on “ain’t talking bout love” is just dripping with sweat and sex.

But as an entire album, that’s a strong arse debut

Still sounds fresh and unlike anything else.....was pretty radical when it came out.

"They definitely broke some new ground. Eddie was insanely talented"

..... Nego please! There was nothing original about Van Halen just radio rack for teenagers who couldn't get dates.
A band lead by a talentless, strutting arse, with a wonderfully talented guitarist with no desire to expand his sound to something new.

Eddie was insane good. The original shredder. Jamie’s Cryin is top notch material.

Almost every guitarist since has been influenced by EVH and would dispute your views.

Apart from maybe Jimi, IMO, no one has had more influence on rock guitar than EVH.

And Van Halen 1 is a top-5 all-time hard rock album. Classic.

Exactly. VH 1 & VH 2 are their best albums but Unchained is the greatest VH song ever.

Is actually a rumba style. Happy style; sad lyrics.

Their best album, imo.
I saw Ted Nugent in a high school stadium in 1978 in Bay City, Michigan. Cheap Trick was the warm up and Van Halen warmed them up! My, My how things changed.
