Just watched Judge Napolitano's channel. Today's Hot Topics

Starting around 7:15
He said that the DNI is going to brief the Gang of 8 on the classified items that were taken from Trump's residence. He says this is bad because it indicates, most likely, that very sensitive information was there. Then he says it also likely indicates that the DOJ is ramping up for an indictment.

I think we all knew the DOJ would indict Trump for something at some point. Put this in front of a DC jury and I don't see it turning out well for Trump. Seems like it would come back on Biden for his shenanigans with documents, as well as the balloon thing. But the Democrats don't care about the PR hit, especially if they're planning to ditch Biden.

Anyway, that's what the Judge says. Not sure what Trump will do here. He doesn't seem to have a good track record of hiring good attorneys. I'm guessing DOJ will want a plea, pay a fine, they'll want to humiliate him with his plea statement, and agree to not run for office at any level.

Of lesser importance, mentioned that SCOTUS justices are using their personal emails to send opinions, have discussions etc. I guess things are pretty sloppy there.

Shocking. I was expecting the DOJ to be impartial, fair, and just.

No it isn't. That was the basis of Congressional objection to DOJ not briefing them in the first place. The claim was classified material was inappropriately handled. Congress has a responsibility and therefore a need to assess the nature of those docs as well as Obama's, Pence's and Biden's relative to national security. The briefing is obligatory.

As the saying goes, you can indict a ham sandwich if you want, and I do think the DOJ will indict Trump. I also believe he will not be convicted, the discovery and evidence should be interesting.

It very well could boomerang on them and set a precedent for reviewing conduct of prior Presidents (44 in particular) and their handling of classified material.

Sometimes it's interesting and has things that no one else is talking about yet. Like this topic.

Where does it state in the law that the documents must be sensitive to be unlawful?

If it goes in front of a DC jury, I think it's a 100% chance of conviction. I have come to the conclusion that nothing done with DC juries is fair, impartial, or constitutes one's "peers".

If they do this to Trump, with a DC jury, when I'm elected I'll pardon him immediately.

I don't support Trump for President, but this is nothing short of political persecution.

They have to lose an election and lose control of the bureaucracy first. They'll never touch Obama. He's their Messiah. I'm confident they'll find a way to get rid of Biden. They could indict Trump, then tell Biden they'll do the same to him, make him resign or just not run again, then they can find someone new.
