God I hate porch pirates

It’s always just piece of shite people that offer nothing to society. We need to start actually enforcing this as the felony crime it is in Texas. I want to set up a trap and see what happens

I was thinking more of a firework artillery shell attached to a model rocket motor igniter. That is triggered by a nearby Reed switch(magnet) when target removed a counter starts. After 1 minute firework goes off if Reed switch not returned to position.
I would also remove the propellant charge from the artillery shell leaving only the exolosive charge. I want a boom not a burn.

Why people who live in areas frequented by porch pirates don't have themselves a postal box to receive packages amazes me. For like $7 a month, all packages get delivered safely and securely and held for you to pick up.

I once put a lot of dirty diapers in a big screen TV box. Put it on the porch with an address label. It was stolen the same day. Thieves certainly didn't find what they expected.
