MTG says congresspeople aren't paid enough

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) lamented this week about how little she was getting paid as a member of Congress, claiming that her low Congressional salary had made her “life miserable” as she “made a lot more money” before stepping into public service.
The MAGA firebrand, who fashions herself as a populist concerned about the plight of everyday Americans, recently appeared on investigative journalist turned professional troll Glenn Greenwald’s podcast. While ostensibly there to talk about her newfound alliance with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the Ukraine war, and other right-wing culture war gripes, she also found time to complain about how hard it is being a congresswoman.
“The nature of this job, it keeps members of Congress and senators in Washington so much of the time—too much of the time, to be honest with you—that we don’t get to go home and spend more time with our families, our friends, all in our district, or maybe just be regular people,” the Georgia lawmaker grumbled. “Because this job is so demanding, it’s turned into practically year-round.”
She continued: “And for those of us in the House of Representatives, we have to run for Congress every two years. So you’re practically campaigning nearly the entire time that you’re here serving as a representative.”

They should all make zero.

Doesn’t she know that Members of Congress make money outside of their office?

She’s a ducking dumbass, just like everyone else in congress

Things she's put up with she deserves 3x what she's paid.

It didn't take her long to morph into one of them.

Agreed. If they all lost their salaries, they would not feel any economic strain! The salary is just what the public sees.
Politics are lucrative, at all levels.

Maybe she should get in on that insider trading shite with Pelosi and the gang.

It only took her a few years to become as shitty of a person as the rest of them.

Politicians almost everywhere, but especially in D.C. leave office with a LOT more money than when they entered office. Pelosi, Sanders, etc. are just easy examples. And as for long hours / days, it's well documented that most D.C. pols really only work 3 days a week when not in session. Leaving town Thursday evenings & returning Monday afternoons.

She's a fricking embarrassment.

I actually agree with her. Or at least there aught to be a Congressional apt complex. Friends used to rent out their basement to congressmen. Other congressmen sleep in their office.... Because you can't do "congress" and another job at this point and you can't afford housing in DC and back home. A lot of good people that could be very good in DC say screw it because of the burden. Family is back home and if they come and see you . You have to get a hotel Because of the rent in DC

Cry me a river. We work damn near every single day of the week but that's life if you are a business owner. I chose to do what I'm currently doing. I'm happy doing it and it's very rewarding. You'll never ever hear me complain because working for a corporation or another small business absolutely sucks in comparison.

This is the one place I support $15 an hour

Between the last couple of elections and this clown, I'm so glad to have finally gotten 2500 miles away from Georgia.
These frickers vote themselves a raise every chance they get. Not to mention what they make from selling the country out.
