Why are baseball managers the only ones who wear uniforms and other sport coaches don’t?

Is it because of the unwritten rules of baseball?

Larussa used to hit fungoes and Lasorda used to throw batting practice. Would have not been able to in a suit.

It would have been a crime if Pat Riley and Chuck Daly didn’t wear a suit in today’s NBA of coaching in a long sleeve shirt or fleece jacket lol

Most wear the pants and socks with a cage jacket or pull over. I can’t imagine most managers have actually worn a jersey in a while.
