was not a good team last year. The pitching staff was young, inexperienced, and had no true ace on the team. Multiple position players were playing out of position just to get enough good bats in the lineup to have a competitive team. If you were expecting anything more than a regional last year then I’m not sure what to tell you

Was about to post the same thing. You have to have a deep pitching staff in Omaha. Last year no chance. This year looks good. We could go undefeated and bomb in the regionals. It's about being hot at the right time. And I feel real good about this team. Great mix of veterans and youth.

Let em prove it then heap the praise. They couldn't even get out of a regional last year.

We did add like an entire pitching staff this offseason.

Last year we had Money, Hilliard, Floryd towards the end and we were platooning Dutton and Taylor on Sundays

Only on the Rant: The 1000+ crowd listening to Coach's speech took his comments in the context he meant: a huge compliment to the LSU baseball program. Here, he's taken totally out of context & semi mocked, as if he actually meant he would take LSU over the Yankees. That had nothing to do with what he meant.

Yeah! And I would not leave my wife to marry Lynda Carter in her prime. I have the best wife a man could ask for. You can take that shite to the bank.

There are MLB a managers who make less than Jay Johnson.

Aaron Boone was making like 1.15 million in 2020. Can’t find his newest salary but he’s not making Joe Madden Money.

Not just any pitching coach, one of the best. Honestly I understand it. It’s insane how many games and how long an mlb season is.
Agreed. I have a group of 8 and we get two great seats for the Texas Rangers, about 12 rows up from between home plate and the first place dugout. We hold a draft for dates, all 81 home games, splitting it up evenly with the last game (#81 of 81 dates) taken by a random draw out of a hat.

10 games in a season is just about right with all the other activities we have, but there are people who seem to be at every game.

What happened to Dutton? Feel like I’ve heard nothing about him this offseason

I think he had an up and down fall, but don't quote me on that. I think he could be a trusty weekend pen guy to put out fires or chew innings. He and Collins are similar, Dutton probably more of an inning eater than Collins. But I could also see Dutton being a mid week starter this year. I like Dutton. He throws strikes, gamer, above average stuff. I hope he sticks around for 4 years with Wes. On the other hand, I could also see Dutton being a guy that heads out as we continue to stockpile.

Skeenes, Hurd, Floyd, Taylor have stolen the spotlight. The days of throwing out any arm, hoping they throw strikes and don't get hammered are gone for good (hopefully).

If we had a pitcher who wasn't "up and down" against this lineup, then you can bank on them being elite. I think that was only Floyd, which is probably where these high expectations for him come from.
