frat members would have helped that girl get back safely to either her sorority or wherever she lived

those arrested I bet are not even lsu students and were just trolling the bar waiting

An issue? Yes.

The biggest issue,

i was saying the biggest issues meaning strictly talking about underage drinking. Its one thing if a fratenity gets a hold of a case of beer and has a party somewhere. But its different when you have bar owners profiteering off of underage drinking on a nightly basis. That was the context point of me saying the biggest issue.

his girl was a sophomore in college, possibly 20 years old...there is nothing outrageous about her age and her being in the bar.

19 and was shitfaced at a bar. It is a problem. It directly led to her rape and death.

I hate to say it, but I’m happy this is blowing up internationally.

Politicians and leaders all across the state need to feel the heat and pressure the rising crime is leading to. The media covering for them isn’t going to do that.

Wrong. The choices of the dudes led to her death.

Or it could just be that your pathological need to be an edgy contrarian and your slavish devotion to your ego makes people on this board pity you. I can’t be angry at you for making yourself the edgy focus of threads that normal people are really emotionally shaken by. I just feel pity for you. And I know better than to ask you to self - regulate or reflect on the neediness of your psychology , because you can’t. The best I can hope for is that the mods send you a message to go take a walk outside and clear your head.

This is silly playing the blame game in here. This is a failure on multiple levels and none of them are going to get solved in this thread.

The focus needs to be on solutions going forward, and it’s not one solution. The girl, her friends, the bar, the criminals, the criminals parents and even LSU all have some level of responsibility.

I don’t think drunk 18 year olds know how to handle that situation either. She couldn’t even tell them exactly where she lived. They weren’t going to bring her back to LP.

that is a load of bullshite, one of them is 28 years old. If everything was innocent, they should have had no problem letting her sleep it off and bringing her home the next day. Or doing literally anything other than dropping her in a dark neighborhood to find her way home, where ever home is.

it is more likely that these dumbfricks don't know their way around Baton rouge. I seriously doubt that she lived all the way out past Kenilworth where they left her.

Tate refuses to publicly address the crime around LSU.

He shamefully deflected the blame on this.

I didn't interpret his and the VP Student Affairs press releases in that manner.

Taking the time to encourage looking out for each other isn't blame shifting. I promise you there are people/friends who watched that girl get picked up by these shady guys.

While I vehemently believe in personal accountability we do need to maintain some degree of community protection.

Honest question. Two people meet at a bar. Both are drinking and both are pretty damn drunk. They go home a frick. Was anyone raped?

The solution is don't rape women who aren't sober enough to consent.

We have laws, they don't work. More laws will not work, people need to realize fricking a girl who is blackout drunk is going to get you in a world of shite.

most undergrads are broke and pound drinks before going to the bar and then just nurse while there because it’s a hell of a lot cheaper

I think that's true for guys but a lot of girls aren't worried about spending money on drinks.

Government isn’t close to LSU and that was completely unrelated to campus being safe. This stuff does happen everywhere and you’re ignorant if you think it doesn’t.
