Prosecutors said in their filing that "the government became aware on January 23, 2022" that Holmes had booked a flight to Mexico to depart on January 26, 2022, without a scheduled return trip which was only cancelled after the government raised the unauthorized flight with the defense.

Why would she have to buy a ticket? She could just charter a jet under a different name.

Woman ceo fugitive didn’t think to get somebody else to buy her a ticket or get a private plane. Classic

She’s a complete fraud.
But so is about half of that damn valley. There is a culture of deception that’s becoming rampant there. So them making an example of her will hopefully curb some of that.

Unfortunately, I doubt it will. Almost all will just think it sucks for her but they are far to smart to be caught. No one thinks it will/could happen to them.

Crazy people do crazy stuff, news at 11.
Yep…
Everything from faking blood test, faking her voice to having this crazy Steve Jobs wannabe persona. It’s a really bizarre story, I’m wondering when she sells the movie rights.

This….
Amazing, some of those guys who lost millions is what I don’t get. With their crazy amount of wealth, you’d think those guys were smart business men and would’ve done research before investing. But who knows, maybe they did and they just got duped by Holmes and boyfriend.
Personally, I think Holmes was just the actor part of it and the boyfriend was the brains behind everything.

I know you're supposed to be trolling but the problem is you're actually 100% correct.

What do you mean "almost ". They absolutely deserve it. A fool and his money are lucky enough to get together in the first place.
The responsibility of due diligence falls on the investor.
I do feel bad, a little, for those who had pensions that consisted of managed funds that invested heavily in this fraud. But to my knowledge, no managed fund became insolvent because of Theranos.
Venture firms who lost their arse on this, frick em.

When one charters a plane to Mexico, wouldn't all the passengers still have to show passports to someone to get on the plane?

Because she’s incredibly stupid despite being a great bullshitter.

There is no place on earth she could hide for any length of time.

How exactly would that work? That person would have to look exactly like her.

It’s because she wore black turtle necks and has a manly voice.

She could never hide with her distinct and totally natural voice.
