Maybe so and I could be wrong. I am open to his candidacy and am open to changing my opinion of him with more information. It appears (based on his resume) that he’s spent his entire life in government and being a State Department stooge is not impressive to me (regardless where he served). I wish he would have done something with his engineering degree besides just getting a diploma, spending time actually working in the real world instead of just the government.

A lot of posters in this thread sound more than a little connected to Nelson. Repeating talking points basically.

I’m sure one of his first social media expenditures is to pay someone to post on this board. It would be a smart move, imo, for any politician to do it.

Speaks volumes. Limited experience plus overly high ambitions plus strange affiliations is a definite red flag.

Did Nelson solicit the endorsement? Please clarify.

Yeah it’s practically a mark against him that he would run with so little record or experience. Pretty damn entitled.

But he’s got a little crew of dickriders here I see.

Richard Nelson Podcast: Published January 18, 2023

Can you point me to the podcast where Mr. Nelson stood up for businesses and people of Louisiana when Bel Edwards was mandating shutdowns, masks, and the vaccine in the state?

Thanks in advance!!

Jeez, get off my lawn much??

Maybe he should just collect bribes from lobbyists for another 30 years then he can finally run for governor and pay back all those favors?

I've never heard of this guy until yesterday, but his quote about bringing LA up to "average" should wake everyone up. I'm 40 years old and have a lot of time in front of me, and our state is depressing. How dare this guy try to do something about it.

It’s the same reasoning some of the Trumpists on here have been using to discredit DeSantis and accuse him of being part of the Swamp.

Never mind it was Donald Trump calling the holdouts begging them to pledge their support and allegiance to career swampist McCarthy just a couple weeks ago.

Havoc,

The only entitled person currently seems to be you, acting like a real arse for no reason.

Not a dickrider, just a 24 yr old constituent of his currently who believes in him, not some shitty candidate that you voted for previously/will vote for that allows mediocrity.

I appreciate your optimism; however, prepare to be disappointed.

I mean I think we know what we are getting from most of the candidates, Landry stood up to JBE (respect) but is that your biggest talking point for him?

I want to see them debate and see his campaign progress further but currently, yes I am optimistic

That’s pretty much the only talking point Team Landry has at this juncture on Louisiana-specific issues from him. Everything else is nationalized stuff.

When has Landry truly weighed in on state tax reform, budget reform, civil service, education, etc?

I’m not saying that disqualifies him from possibly being a good Governor for Louisiana, but it’s absolute stupidity to disregard other candidates who have presented ideas and actively engaged in promoting ideas and reforms on the state level.

No fricking thanks

He doesn’t have any tweets from the year 2021 and only one tweet from 2020. Presumably all deleted. Strange to have no tweets from the peak of Covid. What is he hiding?

I’d frick his wife, though.

Nelson is inexperienced at keeping the state mired down at or near the bottom of every quality-of-life ranking imaginable.

So let's keep electing people that are "doing shite" that has gotten us to the bottom of just about every ranking in the country.

Oh no I’m being attacked by Nelson dickriders! Halp!

Let’s have the Nelson discussion next election cycle when he has a solid record to run on is all I’m saying.
And I’m sure he will. But keep looking clownish by attacking anyone who thinks he’s not ready

What has he done to fight D.C. corruption, Covid boosters, Dems attacks on free speech, immigration crazies, etc..

Landry is the only one from La. to do this and unless somebody proves to be more anti- D.C. its Landry for governor.
