Yes! He has great talent. He's fast, He has amazing ball placement, His arm power isn't outstanding, he reminds me of Kyler Murray. But he will have to beat out Colin Hurley and potentially Garret Nussmeier.

With time yes
The times I’ve watched him he is mobile but the impressive thing was the way he stayed focus down field when he did scramble which was a lot because his oline was pretty bad in high school

Yep. He threw pretty well, even off platform, in the game I watched him in. He was running for his life but running is not his default, threw when he could, and scrambled more for time than to run. But he is a good runner as well.

He’s a much better prospect than TJ Finley was, and he got some starts.
Rickie will have his chance.

Nuss is not going anywhere.

Hence exactly why Howard left.

Nuss knows he’s the man for sure in ‘24 and maybe a good bit this coming season. Nuss would be stupid to leave at this point lol

Where does Rickie Collins fall into all of this? Is he alright with being at LSU for 3 full seasons and not starting?

The guys at Geaux247 rave about his raw ability. Not only is he a great athlete with ideal size, but he has a lot of arm talent, too. He had some big time highlight throws this season.

His future in college will depend on if he develops and how quickly. I doubt he will challenge Nuss, but he could potentially give Hurley a run for his money.

QBs that have only started for one year in college and then turned pro don’t have a great track record of success in the NFL. He would be wise to stick around as a starter for 2 years.

Still no guarantee he doesn't start in 2023, for LSU or for some other team.

Maybe, but maybe not. I think we’ll have a better picture of how things are going to shake out in the spring

If things really were that uncertain, why would Howard not wait to see how things shake out?

I don't that's the norm now. You see a ton of 5 and 6 year QB's in CFB now.
