quote:Its nice having guys that can play guard or tackle. We’ll still have some solid depth even losing Bradford.
Possible Jones stays at tackle with Frazier and Dellinger playing guard
Edit: young, but solid.

We now actually have a little depth and options which is great. Dellinger/Martinez/Turner could compete for C with Dellinger hopefully having a healthy off-season to get ready. They could go with Frazier and Dellinger at the G spots or Jones back to RG, im sure Davis and Kelly will do alot of mix and match preseason. It would be great if Heard was an EE to get in and get started, it'll be difficult for him to be the week 1 starter without being an EE

The combine is more important for him than other SEC players because of those weight issues. He should prolly be looking at it more like a G5 or lower player than an established SEC guy.
The size and lower body agility are prized cause they can't be taught. If My Man hops on the scale between 340 & 350 he'll be ready to make some heads explode. I'd almost wager he's already in most teams Top 10 OL right now.
If he has truly embraced Alignment and practices it every day, ABB will have a long NFL career and earn the corresponding money.
TYFYS, Big Mane!

Wouldn’t have been my first choice!

Gee, an OL, under a new coach, gets better as the year goes on. Must be someone's fault.

He made the right call. This is one of the weaker drafts for OL in quite a few years and he would have had big competition with Heard coming in and Dellinger deserving a starting spot along with Frazier. Now you can start Dellinger and Frazier and not lose a step and if Heard is ready day one you start him at RT and kick Jones inside where he will play in the NFL. Then let Dellinger and Frazier battle for the other guard spot. If I were Dellinger I would be spending these next 3 months snapping and learning to call protections. If he can get those down he would be a hell of an upgrade over Turner. Turner pkayed his arse off but he’s limited physically in a way that Delly isn’t. He can take those 330 lb DT head on. Turner couldn’t.

I dislike that the injury had to happen to anybody - especially a great competitor like Delly - but in the long run it has made the Unit stronger.
Frazier has developed into a reliable piece at either Guard and emergency at either Tackle with at least 2 more years. That wouldn't have come about if Delly remained healthy.
Gotta love how that part worked out.

If Chasen Hines can be drafted, Bradford should be fine.
He’s played multiple positions along the line and has a good bit of experience.
Think he’s a 4-7 (wide range I know) round picks personally.

Not a result that came about because Delly wasn't in the lineup, though. It was gonna happen with or without Delly.

Cool how the cross training works out.
ETA: We didn't point out that Frazier and Dellinger can also play RT.

Well Heard said he would start at left tackle so........

Makes sense. Good luck to him; he was vastly improved this year.

I wonder if Shorts is still in the mix. Shea said he thought he had exhausted his eligibility (COVID year included), but Shorts didn’t participate in Senior Day like everyone else who was done and he couldn’t get a straight answer on whether Shorts might have some kind of exception based on his time in the FCS. Shea still had him listed on his pre-23 season roster until he gets definitive information to say he’s gone. Something to keep an eye on, I guess.
I know Shorts wasn’t as good as some of us hoped he would be, but having another guy with game experience backing up your starters is always a good thing.

Bad move,he’s still over weight needs more work

Good luck to him. He never really reached his potential here but he stuck it out and contributed. He has the size and strength so maybe he’s a late round pick or UDFA. From there, he can put in the work and carve out a career for himself.

So I guess my question is how is this not tampering? Declares last minute and gets drafted?
He declared in January got drafted in April, not exactly last minute
