Decided to go with some friends to the game tonight, all of our firsts to see em. Parked in a well lit pay for parking lot on the corner of Julia and Layola. Came out after the game and noticed rr glass busted out. They hit 6 other trucks in that lot, several other cars and trucks in other lots and stole one vehicle.
What worries me the most is they also got my Sig P226 and the cops don't even come and take a report. Instead I just get that they will call me and do a report over the phone. Any one have any experience with this or advice on how to proceed?

Forgot to mention we're from out of state too

Sadly call it a lesson learned across the board.

Nothing is going to happen

Just dumb to leave a firearm in the truck in New Orleans.

Or anything for that matter.

Always park in the parking garage where you pay.

You gotta be more crafty in hiding a firearm in a vehicle.

Shame on you, and thanks for literally putting a gun into the hands of amoral folks.

How does it feel to know, being that it was stolen in New Orleans, that without a doubt it will be used to kill someone.

Also, why are you bringing a pistol from out of state and leave it in the cabin of a car, in a town that’s known for insanely high crime and theft rates? That just being foolish.

ETA - you better report that gun as stolen in your home state as well. You don’t want a knock on the door because they pulled your prints off a bullet casing from a murder.

This thread has everything the OT needs to sustain itself for a week lost in the woods.

So let me get this straight. You’ve posted here since 2012 and you haven’t picked up on the fact NOLA is patently unsafe?

Well, I came to this thread expecting to hear how much you enjoyed the game. Guess I won’t be attending a Pels game anytime soon.

Wasn't there a thread just 2 days ago about the same thing happening? Now you park in the same area and donate your pistol to future murders? Dumb.

I wouldn’t leave a pack of bubblegum in my truck while parked in New Orleans and you left a gun??

Sucks man that’s terrible. Since you already know your firearm will be used to murder someone, better triple check that you have your ducks in a row with the police report.

Should have left them the keys as well, then you could at least get an insurance check
