This is definitely a good move. We need it here and hope the Florida law passes. Only problem on our end is how many anchor babies the chynese are having here. Long play here will to have a cynese anchor baby president. Canada stopped that practice yrs ago. Fun fact...introduced by an Asian immigrant in their govt.

Are you kidding? The Chinese are experts at finding loopholes. This will have zero effect on anything and Castreau knows that.

I really don't understand the amount of people on this forum who just make things up.
Canada has not stopped birthright citizenship any more than the US has.

It's a two year ban on everybody buying residential property for investiments or speculation.
BUT it only applies to transactions in metropolitan areas with populations over 100,000.
I've wondered if escaping to Vancouver Island is possible and it remains an option, just avoid the cities (both of them) (I think Nainamo is big, maybe not big enough)

Every other country should ban Canadians from buying property.

No 14th amendment in Canada…

USA needs to do the same. Every big housing market is swelled by Chinese cashing out properties. Just look at the California housing market. Chinese cashing 1mil+ houses like hotcakes. Then they don't even live in them. They either keep it empty as a way to hide money from the Chinese government or they rent for outrageous amounts.

This is a great policy. I wish we would all get behind this and try to get the same thing here instead of.. whatever this is.

Trudeau actually doing something I can agree with. The same sort of thing should be the law here. frick the Chinese.

It is mainly the liberal governemnt‘s problems, not just Chinese. Easy to find the scapegoat

They can still pay lots of money to get citizenship and then buy property the legal way.

We already have a committee in place to deal with this, CFIUS:
Course this is the same one that approved Uranium One, selling to the Canadian company as a pass through to the Russians, while Hillary sat on the committee, but swears she did not influence the decision.
And as a sidenote, its the same committee that worked on behalf of Bill Clinton when we sold satellite guidance systems to the chinese, helping them leapfrog an entire generation of development....and they in turn helped fund his reelection.

China will be big mad.
It is the opposite.
Rich Chinese citizens have been flooding the residential real estate markets in Canada for years. One of the large reasons their real estate market has been so crazy
China wants to keep the wealth inside of China.

Good. The US should do the same thing. Foreign individuals and investors should be barred from buying homes in the U.S. It artificially raises prices and hurts Americans. This is the real America First policy we need. I wish Trump would have done this,

This is racist right? American libs told me that merely not allowing them to vacation here during a pandemic was racist.
Don't you mean nationalist? Yes, it is, and it's absolutely the correct move.

I don't think foreigners should be allowed to buy property in the USA
agreed but at the very least the countries that big dick Ron outlined should be banned. any communist country should be banned from having any property and should have to sell any residential property they already own.
also should be a ban at a minimum on any foreign owned business buying residential property and any AG land

They could take a halfway measure and say Asians can buy property in central Canada. 90% of Canadians live a few miles north of the U.S. border. That's where real estate is expensive.
