Apparently it’s designed to get as many non SEC teams in. How is it decided who gets in?

Won’t it be top 12 in rankings? I’d say most years it would be 4 or 5.

This year would’ve had 3. I would think 3-4 will be the norm.

I would say 4 average. Really bodes well for LSU. They should be in every year.

Uh, no. If this was so anti-sec we wouldn't dominate the top 15 rankings. Other conferences have bitched about it for years why is a 3 loss SEC team ahead of a 1-2 loss team in another conference in top 15? They usually have 4-5 teams in the top 15 for SEC. You're probably going to get 3-4 teams in playoffs every year.

NC will continue to be dominated by SEC and the one constant is you'll almost always have an SEC team in it. It's the conference with the most money and highest paid staffs with the most fertile recruiting grounds. Texas coming in pretty much just rolls over anyone else money wise.

Top 6 teams, Power 5 conference champs, ND if in top 12,
This year we would’ve been in except for 5&7 debacle

The CFP will employ some type of EO rankings to boost underperforming conferences so no more than 3 on average.

This year it would have been
3 sec
3 big ten
2 pac 12
2 big 12
1 acc
1 Tulane
Sec would likely get 4 in most years and 3 or 5 occasionally. Have to figure 3 big 10 every year. 1 pac 12 moving forward, after usc leaves. One acc and one big 12 most years. Occasionally one might get 2, probably acc and one non power five.

We best Aggies we’d be in this year. Might’ve shown up too if that was on the line.

I personally think it will get MORE SEC teams in the final 12, with a better chance of more in the final 4, too!

And I do think the 12 team playoff system will be awesome....

Just like now. Nothing is technically earned on the field. Your invitation to the playoff is determined by a group of people sitting on a committee.

Make take awayvmeaning of SEC championship game. Now teams just trying to get into top 12. Conference championship games should fade away with the team with best record the champion. Money, Money may lure otherwise but with playoffs now they should cut out the conference championship games.

Most years - 3.

3 would be the average, over 5-6 years.

There will be a year where we get 4, and a year where we only get 2 in.

I went back over about 10 years worth of rankings- right after the conference championship games…. And 3 is the average

These games will be off the charts. Guess it would be like 4 lower seed games(#5-#12 seed)play each other, then 4 top seeds against 4 lower seed
game winners. Then semifinals & Finals correct? That's 11 total playoff games with everything on the line. Will be Epic!

Just wonder how they'll spread em out over 4 weeks? Probably like 12/24/24(4 games), 12/31/24(4 games), 1/7/2025(2 semifinals), 1/14/25=Championship Game?
What do ya'll think?

Minimum 3 every year, especially once Texass & ZeroU join.
