Common sense would dictate the top 12 ranked teams. But they are likely to drag in conference championships into equation which is BS. All conferences are not equal and you could have an unranked team somehow win conference championship. Take the top 12, period. SEC could likely have 4 or 5.

Make take awayvmeaning of SEC championship game. Now teams just trying to get into top 12. Conference championship games should fade away with the team with best record the champion. Money, Money may lure otherwise but with playoffs now they should cut out the conference championship games.

Most years - 3.
3 would be the average, over 5-6 years.
There will be a year where we get 4, and a year where we only get 2 in.
I went back over about 10 years worth of rankings- right after the conference championship games…. And 3 is the average

These games will be off the charts. Guess it would be like 4 lower seed games(#5-#12 seed)play each other, then 4 top seeds against 4 lower seed
game winners. Then semifinals & Finals correct? That's 11 total playoff games with everything on the line. Will be Epic!
Just wonder how they'll spread em out over 4 weeks? Probably like 12/24/24(4 games), 12/31/24(4 games), 1/7/2025(2 semifinals), 1/14/25=Championship Game?
What do ya'll think?

Everyone will "love" having 12 teams until their team has to play a round 1 game hosted in Madison, WI on Dec 15 in a blizzard.

Minimum 3 every year, especially once Texass & ZeroU join.

3-4 every year
Maybe 5 will be the most in a good year
2 being the lowest but that might happen 1 time

It's the conference with the most money and highest paid staffs with the most fertile recruiting grounds. Texas coming in pretty much just rolls over anyone else money wise.
It’s become meaningless, because the SEC no longer resembles a conference so much as a league. It has almost half the good programs in college football.

Well, this year Penn st would have gotten in. Plus you have Usc coming to the league. Just saying, you’re going to have multiple 2 loss teams in the conference each year.
