He had nothing to do with the CBs. He coaches S and even with all the vets at S, they were very sloppy at times through the season and lots of communication issues.

We switched to a zone base and didn’t have the same guys playing at the same time for most of the season. Foucha had the academic suspension. Burns missed several games. JBC had to move to Safety for a couple of games to shore things up. They swapped Ward and Brooks after a couple of games. Guys were constantly shuffling and playing out of position.

It would be one thing if we didn’t have all the new guys, chaos and the new zone-heavy scheme that many of these guys weren’t familiar with, but reality was the opposite of that. I’m surprised the secondary held up as well as it did in most of our games.

Raymond got his reputation on the back of Ron Cooper’s group while he was at LSU.

To be fair, I'm not impressed with Cooks either. I think he's one of the worst coaches on our staff alongside Polian.

What lol?? Cooks had transfer cbs that wouldn’t have even seen the field under the talent Raymond had.

Ugh! The situation he came into with no starters or returnees except an injured Major Burns(pretty much new), I think he did a damn good job putting together a fairly decent DBfield. This year he’ll have to do pretty much the same thing, I think him and Steeps (cause that’s what I call him) will be better and will now have at least a couple years to work with some hand picked talent, not gun for hire

Why are yall so insecure about Raymond? Its sooo cringe

Because he was insecure about his position at LSU and flirted with other jobs to get a raise annually despite his unit routinely underperforming unless they had elite talent to mask his coaching deficiencies.
