That response would have detailed how, for the vast majority of Daniels’ sacks, they were situations where he was trying to escape the pocket and create a positive play where he did not believe there was one available within the route concept.
most likely from a bad read and holding ball too long. he ran into pressure at times in the pocket. we saw it all year especially as the line got better and better. they cannot hold out forever. Those were not a bunch of coverage sacks either as guys have been open all year long and has been illustrated with all 22 cameras. i will not even blame him on the majority of blitzes because the line cannot block them all all the time, altho he should have been better on some hot routes.

It matters, contextually, because there were many times when Daniels was able to escape the rush and gain significant yardage in key situations. In fact we gained yardage during sacks/scrambles on average - the 2nd highest gain per sack/scramble in the SEC.
ok, so he tried to gain something from a possible bad play/read on his part.

If you watched the first half against UGA and thought he looked like the same QB as he did week 1, I don’t know what to tell you.
we coulda said that after UF, then see how he regressed later against arky, and TAMU.

All this talk about how “he can’t see the field” and “he’s not going to get better after 4 years” is leaving out another pretty important piece of context. He hasn’t been playing in this offense for 4 years. A ton of the reads you’re talking about happen pre-snap. It’s completely reasonable to expect pre-snap reads to improve in year 2 of the same overall offensive scheme.
but i would bet it will be marginal and around a 10% improvement. The change you are hoping for him to make in one season after starting 4 years is asking alot. reads are reads no matter what system he is in. pre or post. his issue was very slow processing. how do you fix 4 years of that? that is not mechanical or physical. That is mental. albeit on top of that he needs to throw a better ball mechanically. needs to keep looking downfield before he bails too soon or runs into pressure as he did many times with not very good awareness in the pocket at times. sure his legs saved us plenty. but if you get a downfield passer who can read you will not have anywhere near that many instances. we cannot blame all his issues on coverage sacks or a bad line. line got much better after first quarter of season and receivers were open all year.
we need a guy who can pass downfield first if you want this offense to be high octane and you want to keep these stud receivers and keep defenses honest.
regardless, thanks for responding since nobody else did

He can run, but he doesn’t play quarterback very well. I may be proven wrong, but I don’t think so.

Jokes aside, I hope this staff doesn’t throw away the future by prioritizing JD5 and Nuss over Howard.
I see you aren't only shitty on the recruiting board.
