Am I the only one that is triggered by this statement every time it is shown?

College football at the time was run with a heavy pac 10/ big 10 bias doing everything to hype their top teams via media love. USC was the poster child for that even as a couple of their teams in that era were very good

I get that we are supposed to hate them for claiming that one but in reality though we were better that year imo, the next year for them kind of showed that the 2003 team was pretty damn good. It isn't improbable that they would've beaten us. Right situation, badly.

USC’s offense would have gotten absolutely clobbered by that ‘03 LSU defense. It would have been ugly. That USC team was a product of media hype, and Pete Carroll’s campaigning.

I would’ve liked nothing more than to have played USC in the BCS national championship game. But USC couldn’t get there. Oklahoma did and we beat them to win the national title

Funny thing is they won it neither year. When creating the BCS, every school agreed that the BCS would be the only recognized national champion. They were stripped of the 2004 NC. So they haven’t actually won one since 1978.

The stupid part was people saying USC should’ve been in instead of LSU. Their beef was with Oklahoma getting in, not us.
