As an adult, do you refer to your childhood friends’ parents as Mr./Mrs. [last name]?

Or use their first name?
And for the parents of the OT, which would/do you prefer?

People I grew up with get the appropriate salutation, but their friends just get a first name
Always cringe a bit when saying hi to them in front of each other

For the majority it's mr or mrs last name, but there are a few who've had a few divorces and i just can't keep up with it... so the get the first name treatment, until i can lock in on the new last name.

Yes, to me, it's a sign of respect for them.

where i grew up, you usually called your good/close friends' parents by their first name but for other adults it would be mr/mrs last name

Generally, anyone who I would consider to be close to my parents age gets a ‘yes sir/ma’am’ from me

First name. It's more personable. It's just the way it was done in my small town, even as kids
Eta:Obviously with Mr/Mrs in front.

You go from first back name to Mrs. Last name? That's crazy.

It varies. Some parents are more or less friends as adults and get the first name treatment. Some parents for a variety of reasons will always be Mr./Mrs. Last Name.
On a related note, you know you’re getting old when kids at duck camp start referring to you as Mr. First Name. It’s a real “when the frick did that start” moment.
