I threw out his full production total when you said his freshmen year was his best. Which we came to the conclusion was false .

I was talking about him peaking as a passer you stupid frick. He threw for more yards as a freshman, that cannot be debated because those are facts. You are being intentionally obtuse because you knew I was talking about passing ability when talking about peaking. He ran for more yards and touchdowns this year, that’s great. Start him at running back for fricks sake.

It doesn’t bother you that LSU is paying someone Saban/Kirby money to make junior college coaching mistakes?

Passing yards Doesn’t mean anything, especially when he’s supplementing yards as a runner.

The offense he was in this year was different. You can figure that out rather easily. Ypa was down but completion % was up, as was his total production

Absolutely, I can see the thought process of why we did what we did this year but I also see what we have to do next year and 2022 LSU offense aint it...

In terms of TDs responsible for, JD's season is second only to the GOAY Joey B in LSU history.

In 13 games or less you are wrong. He has 27 TDs in the season.

JR and Mauck had 28 passing alone in 06 and 03 respectively.

My apologies if the title is wrong. That was the stat they showed in the SECCG. Something like 68% of the total offense ran through JD this year as well.

Either way, I am one of the "idiots" that believes he hasn't hit the ceiling yet. Felt the same way about Burrow after 2018. NO, I'm not saying he is another Burrow.

If we could have Rohan Jayden Daniels Davey baby, runs great but will let fly deep. 2 good QBs but on opposite ends of the spectrum.

His yards per play was very low for a QB. Just because our coaches called every play for him doesn’t mean he was great. He’s a good player but far from the second best season a QB has had at LSU.

OP got it right. WTF guys - JD was awesome this year, just inconsistent. If he comes back and gets consistent look out.

That happens when he refuses to throw the ball and keeps it to often in read option. It also is why the team nearly lost 3 of their last four games.

As a passer, he has not improved since his freshman year despite staring 40+ games. Explain that. He is who he is. He is an extremely talented athlete that can run as good as they come, with decent arm strength BUT cannot make quick passing decisions, throw his guys open and puts tons of pressure on his OL by not getting rid of the ball.

He is what he is. He is not bad. He’s good actually but he is not a championship QB not one that will ever get the most out his team’s weapons because he tries to do it al on his own.

The A&M game is a perfect example and his bad and selfish decision flipped the entire game.

I don’t know if Nuss will be better or Walker, but we know that this team will be limited in the passing game with JD as QB.

Just stop showing your ignorance by trying to compare his circumstances to Burrow. Burrow hadn’t started a game in his career until 2018 and came on during the Fall.

Daniels had 3 years as a full time starter at a P5 school before 2022. They are in no way comptable circumstances other than not being transfer QBs.

That's because he runs more frequently than Nuss would. If Nuss had started, then Boutte or another offensive player may have been the MVP, but the offense may have also scored more.

I think Daniels is a good QB as a package, but Nuss would've gotten more of our weapons involved. If a team doesn't have weapons, then a QB like Daniels is the answer. When your team has our weapons, QBs like Nuss are usually the better option.

I was having a conversation about Daniels with a friend.

Friend: Daniels holds into the ball too long and gets sacked a lot.
Me: Well the OL needs to hold their blocks long enough for him to be able to read the field.

Friend: He cant read the field he tucks and runs most times.
Me: Yeah but he is fast and creates havoc for defenses.

Friend: I saw him sling it at ASU but he doesnt do that here.
Me: Hmmm no comeback.

Friend: I think the LSU Receivers lost confidence in him to get them the ball early on.
Me: I could see that.

Friend: I prefer a pocket passer QB that can run if need be.
Me: I can agree with that, but Joe Burrow is in the NFL. Though Nussmeir looked good.

Friend: Nussmeir did do well agaisnt the Georgia starters and backups.
Me: Id like to see him start and play the bowl game.

Friend: I think Daniels will be back next season and Kelly is gonna go with him so dont get your hopes up.
Me: Well if Kelly becomes stubborn about making changes he wont like being the LSU Head coach. LOL

Friend: I hope we get a transfer portal guy in.
Me: Why so he has to learn the system like JD had to. Id rather just go with JD again if Nussmeir or Howard dont start.

Daniels improved a lot, but I think this team has nothing left after the Alabama game. Nuss and Howard will push him to be better. May the best man win.
